Version 9.06 does ot like Windows 7 64 bit

Pros
It works fine in Windows XP 32 bit. I used it for a decade.
Cons
In Windows 7 64 bit it causes BSD each time when my Nuance PaperPort 12.1 filing software is trying to OCR and save a PDF Document scanned with Canon CanoScan 9000F.
Summary
Encrypting software, which causes Blue Screen of Death and destroys the whole filing system is a useless non-sense.
Broke my computer.

Apparently, theres a small chance that this program will give you a bluescreen. Well, I got that bluescreen and after trying to fix it for over two hours, I can't use my computer now, windows wont load. All i have is a black screen with a dash.
Summary
This is awful.When I tried to run it, my computer instantly crashed. I'm going to have to take my computer into the shop now, wait while it gets repaired, and pay the ridiculous bill. Not only that, but my computer will probably be wiped clean, losing EVERYTHING. Ruined my computer.

*Awesome usability *Easiest encryption *Really hides things (even if you try to play a hidden song from media player history, it won't work) *Faster and more convenient than most of the other options
Cons
*If you accidentally delete the Start-Menu folder of the software...it can lead to a series of problems. *Won't work on external/removable devices.If you hide files on your pen drive with this and use it on some other computer the files WILL show up.
Summary
If you need complete privacy for your files on YOUR OWN pc, this is an ideal software.
It's a great encrypter and folder/file hider.

Quick, lite program that doesn't use a virtual drive, vaults or lockers to encrypt your data. Perfect for large files/folders over 50GB.
Cons
As good as it is the price is rather steep.
Summary
Set as many files or folders as you want to be hidden and/or encrypted with EMF. It works great and fast. No need for those ridiculous virtual drives, vaults or lockers that that end up using all your free drive space. Try using a program like "folder lock" to encrypt a 100GB folder. 1) It'll take forever 2) In order to encrypt that 100GB it'll use another 100GB or so of free HD space. So in the end you're now using 200GB to hide and protect your data with "folder lock". Not the case with EMF. You want to hide/encrypt 100GB folder it does it without using any extra disk space. It's fabulous!!!

Used it for years, very quick product. Don't know where these other guys work but as a mechanical engineer I can tell you their product works GREAT and if someone else's product conflicts with it their tech support will help. Easy enough and faster than anything else out their when it comes to hide / unhide and viewing files.
Cons
Updates are a little slow but always executed well. Does not like hiding some file paths. Has not been a problem for me, I keep mine in a directory at root. Don't forget your password, you will regret it.

It hides folders, wow! So do other programs without screwing up your computer.
Cons
This program is a hokey piece of junk. It WILL mess up your computer badly (I had to reformat after it prevented my computer from booting). It amazes me that people create programs that are this harmful to people's computer. STAY AWAY!!!

Uninstall does not work and leaves files everywhere. Store and transfer of large files >200MB slow and usually causes blue screen. I suggest TrueCrypt instead.

After installing the product on XP SP2, I tested hiding some folders containing data that I could afford to lose. They were successfully hidden from Windows Explorer. <p> <p>However, when I tried to make the folders visible again, my machine dropped straight back to the BIOS screen! Luckily I didn't lose anything important. Repeated three times, same result. <p> <p>Uninstalled product, rebooted again, and my GRUB bootloader started giving errors and refused to load either XP or Linux. Seems like the deinstallation process writes to the master boot record. Luckily I had a Knoppix CD to boot into to fix GRUB, otherwise I would have been unable to use my PC all weekend.

Very nice GUI, i.e. very pretty. Very easy to use, even for a complete beginner. Overall excellent software
Cons
There's nothing that I didn't like, but there were some things missing. <p> <p>I would have liked to have a drive appear. Cryptex from VisionWorks Solutions offers this feature. Using this product you can work directly off the drive while your data is unlocked, and then lock it again and your drive disapears. Both softwares make good compliments.
