• Only basic function works - mkv to dvd easy mode

  Free. Easy mode works. Easy to use.

  Summary

  The source video was 2 hours long. First time I burned using Easy mode and it automatically used the low bitrate for the video. Second time, I used Advanced mode and tweaked the settings to Normal, i.e. use the whole disk for the film. I trimmed the video until the software stopped issuing error message of insufficient disk capacity (below 112 minutes). Result: Looking at the disk showed the video again utilized only less than half of the disk, meaning the settings of burning compression bitrate does not work at all. Secondly, this time probably because of the trimming, the audio is shot. You hear a momentary burst of sound from one speaker, then another burst on the other, then back again ad infinitum.

  Pros

  After trying to use this product for many weeks, this experienced user is unable to find any "Pros"

  Cons

  Once registered and paid for, software worked erratically but after several weeks, stopped working altogether. Company would not answer e-mails. Forums ignored requests for help.

  Summary

  Software does not do what it claims to do consistently and company has NO interest in its customers by offering any degree of support or even the courtesy of answering e-mails.

  It's listed as free, but that's BS

  Cons

  Just look at the top where the license is listed. It's free, but if you want to pay it, you can do so for 350 bucks. Hey, if I can get it for free, WHY WOULD I WANT TO PAY 350 BUCKS FOR SOMETHING THAT IS FREE? The reality is that this software isn't free. THIS IS TRIALWARE, NOT FREEWARE. Nag screens and watermarks are what you get for free; probably only partial files too but I haven't gotten that far with it yet.
