EasyRaterLite for iTunes for Mac lets you rate the songs, which you are listening to with no need to bring iTunes to the front. It gives you a small and unobtrusive menu bar icon that displays the current track's rating or a question mark if the track has no rating, and offers you a faster way to rate songs. Nothing more, nothing less.

After a drag-and-drop install, EasyRaterLite for iTunes for Mac shows you the rating of the song currently playing in iTunes as well as basic track info such as album name, cover art, artist, song name, and the play count, and lets you easily choose a star rating. The app uses a minimal amount of space as a star icon on the menu bar. As an additional feature, the app lets you delete the song you're listening to from iTunes, but the function clears the song only from your iTunes library -- the audio file remains in its original location.

If you want to rate your music while listening to it, EasyRaterLite for iTunes for Mac helps. It's a small but useful app that music lovers will love to have on their Macs. But if you don't usually bother with rating songs, there's little that this app can offer you.
