Easy to Use Produces decent clarity icons Provision for 16x16, 32x32, 48x48 sizes
Cons
Default option compress does not work. That may be the reason others have complained here. Fit option works perfectly The save dialogue box is always saving as 48x48 when all the options are checked [it would be better if this tool adds a suffix with the sizes and produces individual images for various sizes selected]

Its a great and simple tool. Not sure whether it is actively developed.

I don't understand the people who say it "does the job" - it does not!....Perhaps they don't realize what a proper icon is supposed to be. A proper icon must have a transparent background, which is why this thing fails. I tried this applet about two years ago with Vista, it didn't work then and it doesn't work now with Win7. I tried to make a icon with the "transparent" button checked and with it unchecked - I also tried using all types of images (png,jpg,bmp etc.) - non of it worked. The finished icon should have a transparent background - not black. There is NO combination of settings or images that works properly - it fails.
