Quickly built a drum track for my composition

Pros
I started out just trying to add a drum track. Borrowing some of the free example patterns and checking the manual, I got that working in about half an hour. But the program has a ton more features/capabilities. Clearly created by a musician, because it is so easy to understand and work with the structure. Very simple, clean interface for just getting the job done.
Cons
I did have to skim the user guide to get started. It is very business like and thorough, though. And I picked up a much better understanding of MIDI in the process.
Summary
This program also can convert a Midi file into text. Not just drums but general Midi. Then you compile the text and play the song. Once I sorted through all the import options, it was easy to use DrumGen to play songs and show them on the piano/drum staff. You can edit the text and also create songs from scratch. I'm just starting, but it is simple to use.
