DPF Manager is designed to convert digital photographs of any quality from a camera to a more suitable file size for Digital Photo Frames, tablets or mobile phones by implementing various changes to their order and orientation.

It can also be used to create slideshows for Desktop PCs, Laptops, tablets and Mobile Phones. In fact DPF Manager can be used to change the order of many different things. If you have a quantity of images for say a Word document but don't want to end up with a massive file size then DPF Manager can reduce the images to a manageable amount.Many cameras take removable memory cards such as SD or Compact Flash and store the images in a sub-directory called DCIM. Most DPFs can take Compact Flash or SD cards but unfortunately they play ALL files stored in the root directory which could include scans, PDFs and maybe even some files you wouldn't want people to see.

Using DPF manager, you can create selected copies of your precious images onto the root directory of the card so that your DPF plays only the things you want people to see, in the order you want them to be seen.

Great software for managing images on photo frames

DPF Manager is excellent software for managing images on digital photo frames. It allows the user to select which images to include for the photo frame and organizes these into themes - all by simply referencing the original image without making duplicate copies. Multiple themes can be saved and edited as required. The images can be setup to display in the order you want them to. The images can be inserted and moved using an intuitive drag-and-drop interface. When creating the images file for the photo frame, the size of the image can be "reduced" (width x height) to match the capabilities of the photo frame. This makes for fast image switching on the photo frame and allows for the maximum number of images to be loaded into the memory available. An options window allows the user to create new device profiles for digital photo frames that are not already supported. BTW: DPF Manager can also be used to manage image theme files for things like smart phones, tablets, etc.
Cons
None really. I currently use version 1.62 of DPF Manager which is very robust. It is "tuned" to do exactly what is needed to manage images for digital devices. No complex bells and whistles here - the interface is simple to use and the resulting images are easy to load. If what you are wanting to do is edit individual pictures using complex effects - use something like Photoshop. You can then load the results of your work into your digital picture frame using DPF Manager.
Summary
This is great software for managing digital picture frames. I had been looking for something like this for a long time and was I can't tell you how pleased I was when I found this. DPF Manager is simple to use and the functionality is not bloated. It does just exactly what needs doing - nothing more and nothing less. Great piece of software!

Pros
You can drop folders or files onto the window and it just loads them up. I liked how you can save a list of photos and go back next day and make more changes.
Cons
No undo so if you remove a picture accidentally you have to open the last saved list.
