One hundred and sixty years into our future, humans have traveled beyond their solar system and into the depths of space. In an effort to replace Earth's dwindling resources, dozens of mining colonies have been built on planets scattered throughout the universe. Each colony is maintained and governed by the colonists themselves, but is ultimately the responsibility of the Imperial government back on Earth.

The first of these colonies was on Primus IV, the smallest planet in the Primus system. The colonists were heralded as heroes as they left for Primus and quickly began the task of building Earth's first outpost in the stars. The colony thrived and was considered to be humankind's finest achievement and a blueprint for future colonization efforts (see screen shots).

Dogs of War is a real-time, action-packed, tactical game set in a full 3D environment. Battle takes place with up to 200 individual units split between 3 opposing forces, across sprawling battlefields of up to ten square kilometers. There are more than 40 different unit types to command, including infantry; mechanised units and alien creatures; and a diverse range of camera modes, including long-range strategic and 3rd-person views. With 20 enthralling single-player missions and a host of multiplayer levels, Dogs of War will be played well into the millennium.

You should really only download this if you have a cable modem because if it wont install right...you wasted a lot of time. You might have trouble with some screen settings (the demo only works in a setting above 800x600 but will still work but some of the stuff you can't see). It is a good, fun demo, but not very playable if your resolution won't go above 800x600. I am sure the full version has fixed this problem.

This game is not even close to what they made it sound. You need like a super computer to play this game. Computers with good hardware have tough time to get this game out smoothly. Downloading or playing this game is a waste of time and the playing controls are very rough which results in giving you a very unrealistic feeling. Thank, I was just being logical thats it.

This game had many problems when I downloaded it from C Net. First was that this is a DEMO game and not the full version. I spent 10 hrs downloading a great game but many things are missing. Such as text support and a readme.txt file. When I started to play the game, it automaticly configures your display settings. It took me 3 restarts of my computer to get it working. Another, is that when you finnally start with this game, the multiplayer option is excluded. C-Net, WAKE UP. this is a DEMO not a full free version. I am not completely satisfied with this game.
