• cheap but useless

  cheap and simple to use

  - very often it hangs during conversion - very POOR help file - no support - cannot convert cross-refs and hyperlinks correctly

  Summary

  They should care more about product stability and taking care of their legal customers. My advice is to save money and get some real soultion. This app is a joke.

  Pros

  I like its simplicity a lot. When it works. Which is rare.

  Cons

  It hangs indefinitely on three different computers. Sometimes there's a character in the document that it chokes on. Sometimes there's an image outside ot the printable margins. Sometimes I can't figure out what it choked on. When I'm writing on a deadline I can't tolerate software that's unpredictable. Making matters worse, when I email their "support" they wait weeks to answer, apologize in bad English, blame email problems and never provide a solution. I've bought three licenses for the State of TX. I wish I hadn't, and we certainly won't buy more.

  The trial version is so hobbled as to provide almost no indication of whether and how the product will work for a reasonably large Word document. A competitor's trial version processed my 400-page document without problems, simply replacing selected entries with an upgrade note. That's a much better strategy.

  I couldn't get it to fly with Word 2003. Since it isn't necessary to develop applications that are dependent upon the version of Office you are using as long as it is 2000 or later, I don't know why it won;t work. Useless to me. Sadly, I have to give it some kind of a star...
