DigiHUD Speedometer APK for Android

Combining a speed indicator with an odometer and compass, DigiHUD Speedometer can save you when your vehicle's speedometer stops working. This is a great app to have if you're often on the road.

Pros

Accurate and reliable: DigiHUD Speedometer worked as intended in our tests, providing an accurate speed measurement, as well as recording the average and the highest speed. Many other people who've tried this app found it just as accurate as we did, according to app reviews in the Google Play store.

Window mode: You can minimize the app to a small Window mode that you can place anywhere on the screen and enlarge, as well as set on top of another app window. This means that you can use it with a navigational/maps app.

Extra features: Apart from the accurate speed indicator, you also get a compass, a trip meter, a digital clock, and overall speed and odometer statistics, all of which come in handy during a long trip. Also, you can set an alert if you exceed a certain speed, a useful way to avoid costly speed tickets.

Cons

May damage your screen: When you first launch this app, you're warned that maintaining a static image for long periods on a digital screen may cause a burn-out, leading to discoloration of parts of the screen and other display problems -- the danger appears when this app is launched but you're not moving and the MPH is stuck at 0.

Depletes the battery: When using this app for a long time, you may notice that your battery drains a bit faster, though the app's benefits outweigh its "appetite."

Bottom Line

Easy to use and accurate, DigiHUD Speedometer offers for free and without any ads the full functionality of costly speed indicators. And the great thing about it is that it's portable, so you can use it with any vehicle, even buses and trains. This is a great app to have on your smartphone or tablet.
