This is accomplished by resquencing diagnosis codes into every possible combination. PrimeDRG can resequence most accounts in less than 3 seconds. Once completed, the coder can select each possible combination to pick the one that is valid. This is critical as not all combinations will be valid per coding rules. Best practice is to start with the DRG with the highest weight and work down the list until the accurate sequence of codes is found.
