• Excellent for DTP!

  Frame based like QuarkXPress: Much nicer and a more professional feel than PageMaker / Indesign. Slick and simple, not overloaded with unnecessary stuff like Indesign. Great for Layouts, Flyers and Posters. Great for classical Graphic Design. Easy Navigation. Less is more.

  Cons

  On Screen Typography is not perfect, but whoever grew up with pixel-based displays can truly live with that. It's the printed matter that counts.

  Summary

  Very good value for a low price. Keep up the good work!

• Cool and cheap DTP

  Pros

  It's like very old versions of QuarkXPress. It's frame-based which gives it a more professional feel than all that Adobe-Page-Maker-Indesign Stuff. Display of Typography is not totally perfect, but as soon as you print out it looks pretty good. This software is good for simple layouts based on text and certainly ok for print. You quickly can achieve more flexible layout designs than for example with Microsoft Word.

  Cons

  Though I haven't tried to integrate any images I assume that might be the downside. As I pointed out before, this software is good for print, but probably not that great for digital printing and web-stuff. This is old school style software, you probably will add pictures manually and use a foto-copy machine.

  Summary

  For simple layouts, newsletters, simple newspapers this is certainly a cool software because you can place a text-frame wherever you like to. It is very is easy to use and brings me back to the old school days layout-ing. If you like QuarkXPress and can't afford it you will love this product.

• Worthless junk!

  I bought this tool because I don't have several hundred dollars to spend on Pagemaker or Quark. I thought,"It's only 20 dollars; give it a try". What a mistake! <p>Here are some reasons you should NOT buy this product: <p> <p>1 - It does not have a grid! Grids are essential for correct alignment of form objects. <p>2 - Imported images do not display. When I imported my logo, I saw nothing! Absolutely nothing! <p>3 - Export to HTML resizes the document. My 8.5 X 11 letter became NOTICEABLY smaller! (I didn't take the time to get an exact measurement). <p>4 - It MAY be spyware. I can't be certain about this one, but I observed some very suspicious behavior. My firewall was constantly alerting me that the program was trying to access the internet. This occured whenever I tried to import a graphic or export my document. <p> <p>Even if I'm wrong about it being spyware, Desktop Publisher Pro is ABSOLUTE GARBAGE! Don't waste your time or money.

  This is terrible. What is use of trial version that a) doesn't save work and b) will not print without horrible text telling you that this is a trial version. As well as that it is unstable and seems to have problems keeping everything where you put it. I would definately recommend you leave this one well alone.

  I tried to download this program and always about half way through the download the program just STOPPED! I tried several times with the same results. LOUSY program for downloading...
