This free sticky-notes program gives you the basics but isn't as intuitive as some other freeware competitors. Dema Virtual Notes 2005 allows you to append multiple notes to your screen. Of course, you'll find options for changing the note color, as well as the font type, size, and color. Right-clicking a note lets you access other options, including the ability to insert a BMP image in the note. At first, we couldn't figure out how to set an alarm. After fiddling with the program, we learned you have to right-click the tiny title bar to the top of each note to configure an alarm; we can see how some users might miss this entirely, especially since there's no help file. The alarm feature lets you use your own music files as notification but cannot set recurring reminders. Dema Virtual Notes 2005 is fine for simple reminder tasks, but we wouldn't settle on it without first testing some of the other free products in this category.

Lacks fundamental setting

The basic idea with a note is that is should be visible. None of the "note" sw offers this. They totally hide or smack it on top off everything. If you simply let it stay on the desktop, you succeed to 99,99%. Without it I say it is pretty useless.

It's an independent development so is limited, no such function as insert a photo and others that 3M includes. <p>Also there's an item without efect "Object Properties" <p>Multilanguage must improve.

Pros
This sticky note program is totally configurable. You can change practically every parameter of the notes all the way from font selection to background color, and it comes with a nice alarm feature that plays one of your music files for you too. You can even set the transparency of the note as well. This is hands down, the best program out there and it's free. Dema Virtual Noes is a diamond in the rough. It hasn't gotten much attention because it is lost among the other big post it programs. But even so, it is still the best one out there. The author of this program has done a remarkable job. Great work.
Cons
The biggest drawback of this program is the total lack of documentation and this is most likely due to the fact that it is programmed for over 10 languages. You select from a list of your choice. I can understand why it doesn't have a help file because of all the translation chores needed. Dema Virtual Notes is feature rich, but you'll have to figure out the features and how they work on your own. Here's a tip...just right click on the top heading of the note, the body of the note, or the system tray icon and you should be able to figure it out. It's not rocket science, and the program is so easy to figure out, you'll be off and running in no time. In spite of the lack of good docs, it still rates as the best of the bunch.

Supported languages include Italian, English, French, Spanish, Turkish, Chinese, German, Finnish, Danish, and Dutch. Version 2.0.1 adds new features. The program can put the date and the time on a note title. The application has a hot key to create new notes, a new menu layout, and support XP styles.
