Date Matter attempts to fill the low-cost end of the productivity app spectrum by providing a clean event and task creation and management tool. For the most part it succeeds but not without a few glaring omissions.
Date Matter looks clean when first opened, albeit with some odd design choices and font placements. Creation of a new event takes only a couple taps and there are multiple options for categorizing the event, including categories (which you can set), reminders, dates, and event name. The app looks good and the input takes little time. New events are added to the home screen under their categories, which you can scroll through relatively easy. Reminders will pop up on your phone as notifications, as well. A nice feature here is the ability to sync to and recover from Google Drive. Extending the functionality of the app quite a bit, the feature doesn't work perfectly every time, but is more than most free apps offer.
Date Matter is a well-executed app for small, relatively low-priority to-do lists. For robust productivity needs that need to be synced across multiple devices and operating systems, it won't stand up; but for an iPhone-focused app, it works well enough and goes above and beyond what Reminders or Notes do.
