Browse your iTunes library by cover, sort of like a jukebox.
Browsing a list of album names somewhat uninspiring, to say the least. One of the big attractions of a physical album is the beautiful packaging and aesthetic appeal, something that s sorely missed with the digital equivalent. CoverFlow aims to bring that aesthetic appeal to your MP3 collection. It allows you to browse your albums complete with beautiful artwork pulled from any sources it can find, whether that s buried in your song tags, collected via Synergy, or looked up on Amazon. CoverFlow is an album browser for OS X, using Cocoa and OpenGL. It was originally inspired from a concept by Andrew Coulter Enright. Features include: a beautiful environment for browsing & launching your albums from, album art can be pulled from MP3 tags, Synergy, Clutter or Amazon. If CoverFlow still doesn t find the artwork you want, simply drag & drop an image.

Really cool graphic animation !!!!
congratulations! hearing music becomes a new experience
bad:
if an album contains different artists, CoverFlow shows the cover for each artist. I imagine a behaviour similar to taking an album out of my CD- Rack.
wish:
send back new pictures to iTunes automatically.
show titles of the album, currently playing song, etc...
Great new icon!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />this is hot - finally I can scroll through my albums again like on good old vinyl or so :-) I just haven't found out why it does transfer certain covers successfully to iTunes but others not ? But great for a Beta - pls fix this and give us some more preferences for image quality defaults please... and it will be the best tool and well worth a view bucks - thank
This is sooooo beautiful!!!!

One thing that would be good is if you could "flip" the albums over to see the track listing but still, it's good enough as it is.
Wonderful app - with little flaws

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I also like to thank the developer for giving us this little gem! Wonderful app, great idea. AND I have a few anotations: 1. The quality of the covers is suffering extremely when CoverFlow archives them at first startup. the jpg picture quality is set a little too low for my taste (as I am keen on having crisp high res - meaning 500px+ - covers in my iTunes library). 2. Often the covers embedded in the mp3 files are simply ignored by the app. thus the cover in CoverFlow is displayed as generic or - even worse - the low res version from Amazon etc. which is also often the wrong one. This is annoying when you - like me - haven't got a single file in your collection that hasn't got it's own hig res cover embedded. 3. Browsing filenames in an album would be wonderful. You could achieve it by flipping the cover (like a widget) and on the back having the front cover softened with the titles displayed over it, like iTunes does with printed covers. Just an idea.
Great little program but.....

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />This is a fantastic little idea that works extremely well however I have one request from the developer (if it can be done!).
As I have all my mp3 on a server that shares them with other computers, this doesn't really work for cover art on a shared library! Can anything be done about this?
Just beautifully done...

Imagine the crowd's gasp when Steve Jobs demoes it during a future keynote - and the murmurings when Apple try to pass it off as their own idea...
