  Pros

  The game is scary as hell and one of the best games I've ever played.

  Cons

  The download took way too long. In the downloads window it said 6 hours, 17 minutes! WTH?!?!?

  Summary

  It was an awesome game, but a faster download speed would have been nice.

  Pros

  Yes, Criminal Origins is scary...Not Silent Hill 2 or Resident Evil 4 scary..Of course... <p> Many of the enemy bots are brutal. They pop out of nowhere and will send you to hades with a small pipe. There are seriously times in the game where you run into a dead ended room and are still scared of some druggie busting out of the ceiling or something... <p> Another thing, is the use of weapons. The game makes it real clear that you only have a few shots and that if you screw up a shot, you'll quickly find yourself surrounded by 'roidin criminals. To compensate for this, the game allows you to pick anything up and use it as a weapon. But this does come with a price, as almost everything makes a sound which usually doesn't go hand-in-hand with being sneaky. <p> There is a brief glimpse into crime-scene-investiagation, and I do mean brief... The cutscenes are sudden and great, and there is a genuine sense of terror.

  Cons

  The only con, is that this isn't as scary as it could be.... I mean....If you really want a good horror-survival game, right here-right now, go check out the Silent Hill series or Clive Barker's Undying...This game is a good shooter that just lacks better 'scare tactics.'

  Pros

  Very unsettling...walking down a hallway when you hear scuttling ahead is very chilling... <p>Definitely not a shooter...you start with a gun, but it's unlikely you'll unload more than six rounds, since that's what they give you...you can find another pistol later on in a corner with 5 more shots, but that's at the very end...This adds a cool, original feel to the game, rather than just another shooting gallery...Note: I am a huge shooter fan and I still liked this... <p>Good graphics: I have a cheapass graphics card, and it still looked nice, even though I didn't bother fiddling with the settings <p>Hobos! Hobos are always funny, especially when you say "Police! Come out or I'll use force!" and he says "#@$& you!" and you shoot him in the leg and he says "agh! &#$*#$@er!" and then you kill him.

  Cons

  First part is kind of boring...unless you're a huge fan of CSI or something, you'll be wishing it was over so you could start killing hobos <p>Hobos...Killing them with rusty planks is fun...but it doesn't make sense: if they're in the same building as the murder was commited in, don't that make them suspects? And if they're not the killer, why are they trying to kill you? I read some reviews and aparently playing the full game doesn't clear that up. <p>Short. For the file size, it's a short demo. Maybe 10 enemies. Still, it makes sense where it ends... <p>My personal pet peeve is @$$holes who give a game a low score for any of these 3 reasons: <p>1. Took forever to download. <p>Well, that ain't the game's fault. Get a better internet connection, or do something else. <p>2. The demo didn't work <p>This is the most defensible one, but if you haven't played a game, how are you gonna rate it?? <p>3. I couldn't run the game/ Didn't work well on my computer <p>Lets rephrase this one: "My [Mom's] computer sucks, and she won't buy me a new one as long as I'm living in the basement, so I'm gonna take it out on the computer. Because next-gen games should work on a computer with integrated 32MB graphics and 128MB graphics. I even have a blazing 1GHz processer." Honestly people, a game like Half-life 2, Doom 3, or Condemned was not intended to run on 5 year old hardware. So just shut up, stop whining, and get a new computer.
