• This Free-to-Play isn't worth your money

  Pros

  FPS multiplayer action that's free, and optional to pay for. If you play FPS games on a computer, this game allows a player to easily adapt. Though it doesn't really do you much of any good based on the cons.

  Cons

  The cons hurt this game badly. You wonder if the developers are even trying to do enjoy to combat the issues. This game is a haven for hackers, who use various cheats for insta-kills (like AimBot), there are other cheats allowing them to know exactly where you are located (xray vision), etc. Also (I know its a PC game), but the game should have gamepad support. Swearing, racial slurs, and other types of sick language get used at times too, its obviously used to get a rise out of other players, but you've been warned. Players make up rules on things that aren't disabled prior to game play (i.e. No Shotguns), so anyone coming into the game unaware will not know that unspoken want and will either be booted, swore at, etc. If its an item you've paid actual money for, you may not be too happy having someone tell you not to use it. The developer even glorifies the hackers in an ad. When I saw that, I felt that it was basically the seal of approval from the developer to the hackers.

  Summary

  Overall, if you want to play this game, (go for it and) test the waters before investing any money at all. You will be glad you did, because at times you won't be able to use them at all because are just that obvious at times and you may find yourself just shutting the game down (if it doesn't shut down based on someone booting you completely out of the game). So factor in these things, and see if its something you feel comfortable with investing money in. Personally, I've never spent a penny on CombatArms, its just a quick FPS experience, and sometimes you get "luck" to end up in a match without hackers. I'd rather spend my hard earned money on a game that doesn't require me to get lucky because no hackers are not in the game. If they actually cared a bit more about their game, we would see it with a decrease of hackers. I hope they are currently working on that, or the matches will continue to be worthless if a person can just hack the match in their favor. At this time, it just isn't worthy my dime.

  Pros

  Good graphics, plenty of weapons and its free.

  Cons

  The game is great but it only works with XP only. It constantly crashes with Vista and Windows 7 and more then likely crash with Windows 8. You usually only get 1 game in before it crashes.

This is a problem that the company can not seem to fix since 2011 so bugged for almost 2 years now. It has great graphics and I love it but since me and millions of other people use Windows Vista and 7 we are out of luck. Will be a great game when they get it compatible with windows. Until they actually find a fix which since they cant find one in 2 years more then likely they never will i would play another game that is stable.

  The people are about the only good thing on the game. The graphics are okay. That's it for pros

  Combat arms is not a game I would recommend to anyone. The hackers are uncontrollable not to mention they won't spend a dime to get a better hack shield. Lag is terrible most people can barely get in a game without being kicked out. They also ban people from the game just to do it. No reason why, nothing. This has happened to several people over the last year. Many of them PAYING players. They care more about money than the people. I understand it's a business I wish they would to.The graphics are disappointing, The over all game play is great as long as you don't lag (which never goes away) or the hackers don't boot you to desktop. Which ever comes first. The gp weapons are okay. And the pay for guns don't work right and are very expensive $30.00 a weapon.

  Summary

  In all I would NEVER recommend the game to anyone.

  Pros

  *Many weapons, and some modifications *Many players of all skill levels *Many Maps of all sizes and types *Good player based community (Forums/CBL) *Ranking is challenging and acually reflects the payers skill level *Exelent clan system.

  Cons

  *There are no Iron sights you have to spray fom the hip with almost all weapon types *The scopes are mislabeled: ACOG is actually red dot, There is no ACOG scope that you can actually buy. *Nexon communicates very little with thier costomers, even on forums.(no costomer service) *Nexon Keeps adding overpowered unrealistic weapons. The weapons aresenal is completly unrealistic and imbalanced *HACKERS ARE EVERYWHERE. *There is no system to delete inactive accounts, so all the good player/clan names are taken *You can buy a special licence called an elete moderator pass, with allows you to kick any player for any reason. It is abused regularly *You can also buy a specialist licence or "Spec" that allows you access all kinds of overpowered weapons. Most of these these weapons are more unbalanced than some hackers.

  Summary

  Nexon has a primitive understanding of military jargon, or weapons in general Any one with even a little background knowledge of the army, or weapons will hate how Nexon completely ignores logic. Te game itself is actually great I've been playing for 2 years and shall continue to do so, but Nexon's ideas or "Improvements" re makng it worse and worse. Just for the sake of argument I will give one example: Nexon's large selection of weapons includes many weapns both popular, and odd. One old favorite is the G3. The G3 fires 7.62ammo Same as many NATO weapons incuding the M-14, and M-417. Nexon has all of these guns, and are proud of it. But Nexon's representation is so far of: despite all 3 weapons shoting the same rounds thier recoil and damage marks are all over the chart. The G3 shoots more like and M-16, with very little recoil. The M-14 shoots like an M1 Grand, not very far from the truth, but its rate of fire is lower than the real full-auto M-14. The M-417 has no recoil at all. How does a gun that shoots M-14 rounds have no recoil? Considering all the no recoil weapons cost real money to buy from nexon it makes sence. The only one I listed that isn't Over Powered was the standard M-14, witch hapens to be the only one listed that is "free" to play. Nexon want money, they are ruining the game just to gain a few extra $$$ at the end of each year.

• EXTREME dissapointed due to balance issues.

  Offers a very diverse selection of game modes, weapons, and Game Modes. However, the cons that follow invalidate every single one of these.

  Cons

  UNBALANCED WEAPONS: Weapons PERFORMANCE diversity is god-awful and fusterating. The m416-CQB Is better than almost every weapon in every single way, along with weapons that have similar performance are the ONLY guns being used. LAG: The insecure net code ruins the game for people NOT running the most advanced technology available. BALANCE: Nx items such as specialist give money-wasting players 3X the speed of an average player, this item is now purchaseable PERNAMNETELY. Realism: Players will have to use innacurate hip fire to hit targets, and if you use attachable sights, your recoil will double into an unmanageable amount. (Coming from a firearms enthusiast.) FPS: Will suffer if you do not have a highly advanced computer due to unstable lobbies/servers/ect. KDR emphasis= Through past marketing, has some reason made this stat more important, which ruins the relaxive nature of this game with superfluous statistic competitiveness. Could list more but don't have space.

  Summary

  This game will be very appealing to players that are looking for a basic, non-refined gaming experienced. The many weapons and modes will offer excitement and fun for the average player. HOWEVER, players that wish to perform well in the game will be highly dissapointed unless the decide to spend money on the game, being that this factor will place them on top of any Non-Consumer player, no matter what skill level. Certain guns have no recoil, and high damage, making anything other than this completely inferior in the competitive environment. Removing specialist or at least creating a specialist-free option along with balancing guns like the M416CQB and buffing others like the ACR (low rate of fire, high recoil...but not even high damage?) would push my rating to a 4.

• Full of Hackers & Questionable System Security

  Pros

  Combat Arms is a free to play FPS Game produced in South Korea and published by Nexon First reaction to the game would be good graphics for a free fps and nice range of maps and weapons. Excellent clan system. There are a range of free weapons when you start the game which increases as you gain experience and you can purchase NX game currency to buy more sophisticated weapons.

  Cons

  Unfortunately Nexon's record of security is not good. In 2011 Nexon's sister game Maplestory was hacked and 13 million ID's were obtained by the hackers. Hacks to cheat in Combat Arms are openly for sale on the Web and it is very difficult to know whether you are playing a clean player or a cheater. Periodically systems are tightened to try and reduce hacking but each time the obstacles are overcome. Nexon have recently taking to auto-Hardware banning players the system detects as cheats and unfortunately the flawed system is now banning clean players as well as hackers! Customer support is virtually None Existent!

  Summary

  Some of the features of the game are nice but I would advise people not to spend any money on the game(i.e. NX), due to the security problems you may end up losing it or facing disappointment or worse ! .

  Decent graphics Frequent content updates TONS of guns Free to play (Yes I really mean free.) Average download size. (Current client takes up about 3GB when all unpacked/updated) Lots of Sales/Giveaways, etc. Recruit packages(recently improved even further from their news feed) for new players.

  Cons

  Hackers (They still float around, though not nearly as bad as before) Lag (occasional) Learning curve is a little steep New patches sometimes extremely buggy for the first week or so

  Summary

  Overall,a great game, that keeps things consistent, but adds just enough periodic newness to keep things fresh. And with the number of guns in its virtual arsenal, you're bound to find something. Definitely gets fun when you have a full room of 16 in Elimination, or when you get a team of 7 buddies with you to tackle a Fireteam mission and crank the difficulty up to Extreme. If you like FPS's, and dislike 60$ price tags + subscription fees for online multiplayer, GET THIS GAME NOW!!<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Dec 19, 2011<p/>I'd also like to add that downloading the patches can take awhile, as the installer checks all files, then downloads the updates, then checks them again.   Hackers Elite moderators that won't listen.

  Summary

  I'm an experienced gamer on here. I recently reached the rank of 2nd Lt. Been playing for near 3 years. When we had our first GOA (General of The Army) he was a hacker and gotten banned. The next, was legit. Don't listen to anyone with negative reviews. (They can't play for crap) You don't have to use the NX feature (Real money) if you don't want to. But in overall, this game is awesome. Have fun everybody :)

  Low system requirements (even runs on Intel GMA) Free to play Decent graphics Acceptable download size Easy to install and uninstall Good variety of weapons, maps, and game modes Fast paced Would be very fun if not for hackers

  Cons

  Hackers( as of sept. 2011 not so much) Glitches (Mostly patched in 2 weeks within discovery) Spammers and immaturity (Combat Arms is a young community, average age is 13)

  Summary

  Don't listen t the other guys, CA is a great game..it doesn't lag (if u have an average computer) Glitches are patched quickly and is not a games for US only, i come from Australia and i play). People say is is not ameteur friendly, but, everone is terrible at the start to get better weapons u need to rank up (makes u want to play more), That the point of the game. Some people say their game crashes or something misfortunate happens. Its not nexon's fault that they have crap security/ a crap computer. Finally, People say nexon has bad tech support and/or don't care about the game. How could they say that when they update/fix the game everyday? Like WTF is ur problem?

  Summary

  Ok, I played Combat Arms last year and it was enjoyable. Sure, there were hackers then, but not too bad. There were a handful of maps and lots of weapons. Game was fun, and worked great for me. Now, I started playing again a few days ago. High amount of weapons, gear, maps etc etc, which is great, but it all costs so much. Then when you are in-game, you get killed every time you spawn by a hacker. The game has "HackShield" which obviously does nothing. The team doesn't even stop the hackers. And now, my game won't work anymore. I get an error code saying failed to update protection modules. I have sent to inquiries to tech support days ago, and they haven't even viewed it yet! Bottom line is, this game has THE WORST TECH SUPPORT IN THE HISTORY OF GAMES, AND THE GAME IS GOING DOWNHILL VERY FAST. FIX THE HACKERS, FIX THE LAG, AND MAKE MY DAMN GAME WORK!
