Diverse content: While the sections are broad, including U.S., World, Featured, Justice, Health, Money, and Tech, the content you'll find in them covers current news as well as interesting original reports you won't find anywhere else.

No TV: The app lets you stream CNN videos, but if you want to watch CNN's live TV you need 1) to live in the US and 2) sign in using your cable provider.

Large ads: Ads are integrated with the content, appearing between news items as well as within articles, taking up quite a bit of space. If you live outside the US, some ads don't show, but you'll still see blank chunks of screen.
