I have been using Clipcache for a long time, updating twice to newer versions ( a lot of money.) I have the newest version - Clipcache Pro version 3.5.3. It's a good program - UNTIL you have a problem with it. See Cons for details.

About 2 months ago, my Clipcache Pro suddenly stopped opening. It was just dead. Over the course of 2 months I sent no fewer than 15 requests for support. I received no reply. TWO MONTHS, 15 SUPPORT REQUESTS, NO REPLY. I went online and found one that is good, and has good customer support. It's called M8 Spartan. The free version is okay, but pretty bare bones, as are all free versions. But he full paid version is feature rich, at a lower price than Clipcache. DO NOT BUY CLIPCACHE. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM, YOU ARE OUT OF LUCK! I've been using computers since 1980, so trust me.

I have been using CC Pro for well over a decade. I still handcode html for a couple of sites and I have never, ever been without this utility. This has always been the first utility, after AV, that I've installed on so many computer upgrades over the years. It's quick, intuitive and so, so functional. I would feel quite hobbled without it. I have NEVER lost data with it, as seems to have happened with one irate reviewer. I keep the database file within my docs folder and keep that on a separate partition/drive and so I can System Restore or restore the OS partition without overwriting my data and the CC pro database file. I can't understand the low ratings given by some people. So many people blame apps, utilities when it's usually their own system's idiosyncrasies at fault. Highly, highly recommended!

the folder system is well and practically designed.

I have been using it for years. Usually my items add up up to more than 500 for each folder. since the version 2.7 up to this last version there is a main bug = unnoticeably it erases some period of time where you shot clips. If you are working with many clips you don't notice it unless you check some items on purpose. I lost many of my data. Because when I started to use the versions 3.xx etc. The programmer guy told me that he changed the data system and it doen't happen anymore , but it is not correct. There is a bug that he cannot handle. While using it , you frequently lose data and the worse thing is that you don't know when and what you lose. For the last problems I wrote to the programmer but I didn't even get any response. There are other issues also. For ex. text treatment tools don't work correctly. Still you lose, or disorderly mix your data. Anyway, keep away

It sits there in my task bar, out of sight, doing its job, day in and day out and never lets me down. I purchased it back in March of 2009 and don't know how I ever got along without it.
Cons
I wish the license allowed for use on both my desktop and my laptop but I can't really complain. They offer a family pack license but I only need two so the cost works the same. So, I have to make do with a poor substitute on the laptop.

I write so I copy/paste huge amounts of text and needed something that could handle it all and store it all - not just a few snippets. Clip Cache does all that and more. I loose things sometimes. ClipCache runs global searches and the clips show what application I was using and when I copied the text. I don't know what the CNET editor meant by "but it can't process images." I doesn't "edit" images but it certainly copies and pastes images, websites and print screen. So where images are concerned it does everything I need it to do. Support is excellent. I have a license for one of the company's other programs and the support for both has been very good - not that I've needed much help. I tried umpteen other products before purchasing this one. The was the one that best suited my heavy demands.

Pros
Became an indispensible part of my computing. Has been in extensive beta testing, so some complaints may be from beta releases? Very stable on my WinXP SP2. Zero Bloat (It's a fact: some people desire bloat, I do not). Support forums at main site are very active.
Cons
Some planned features are not yet implemented as of this post. Wouldn't hurt to have more "modern" toolbar buttons.

Pros
I first tried Clipcache about 6 years ago when I saw it suggested in a Microsoft (!!) newsletter and figured if they liked it on Windows what the heck. Now its one of the first things I download every time I get a new computer or upgrade my OS. It is small and easy to use. The email cleanup feature alone is worth the purchase price but I use the clipboard functions dozens of times a day. This program is indespensible to me!

I tried this and I tried ClipMate. They are both very similar in that they work as advertized but once you have more than a few clips, the interface is really poor at letting you find the ones you want to use.

This product has followed me through several computers and O/S upgrades and performed flawlessly on all of them. Given the amount I paid for it, the time I've had it, and the amount it has been used, it is probably one of the most best software purchases I have made (in 26 years)
