Pros

Locates theatres nearby: Cinemark Theatres for Android helps you find Cinemark theatre locations nearby using location services. Switch tabs to view your favorite theatres or ones you've recently visited. Tap any one theatre to view its current film offerings.

Displays movie showtimes: Tap the Showtimes tab to view showtimes for all the movies, or select an individual movie to see showtimes for just that one.

Easy ticket purchase: To purchase a ticket, tap the showtime of your choice, set how many adult, senior, or children's tickets you want, hit purchase, then reserve your seats, and finally, enter your payment information. You can save your payment info for faster checkout next time.

Additional movie info: Need help deciding which movie to see? Tap any movie to get a synopsis and trailer.

CineMode: To encourage patrons to stay off their phones during movies, Cinemark's app includes a feature called CineMode. Start it when your movie begins and your phone's screen will dim automatically and you'll be asked to put your phone on vibrate. As long as you stay in CineMode and off your phone for the entirety of the film, you'll be rewarded with points.Cinemark Connections: Join Cinemark Theatres' rewards program Cinemark Connections in the app under the Connections tab in the hamburger menu. Then scan your virtual card at the box office and-or concession stand to earn points, which you can later redeem for digital downloads, concessions discounts, and more.

Cinemark Movie Club: Join the Cinemark Movie Club under the Movie Club tab in the hamburger menu, and for $8.99, you'll receive one 2D ticket per month, 20 percent off concessions, reduced add-on tickets, and waived online fees.

Cons

Cinemark Theatres only: With the Fandango app, for example, you can purchase tickets for Cinemark Theatres, as well as competing theatres, such as AMC, Regal Cinemas, and Carmike. But with the Cinemark Theatres app, you're, not surprisingly, limited to just Cinemark Theatres.Online convenience fee: You must pay a small convenience fee if you order your movie ticket in advance. The fee is, of course, waived if you join the Cinemark Movie Club.

Bottom Line

If you're a regular Cinemark Theatres customer and maintain a Cinemark Connections or Cinemark Movie Club account, then this app is a must as it keeps all of your info in one place and helps you avoid the often lengthy ticket lines by enabling advance purchases.
