BulkPicMe is a freeware batch image software which can resize, rotate, flip, colour, and convert in four easy steps. Import your images via folder, file, or drag-and-drop; set your transformation options; set your output options; start BulkPicMe. Ability to set any combination of transformation settings to any combination of imported. Tiny in file size. Import folders (subfolders included/excluded). Import multiple images. Allows drag-and-drop of folder and/or files. Images that are not valid will be listed separately. View imported BulkPicMe images by details or with thumbnails (different sizes available). It downloaded and installed quickly.
Cons
No way to select input or output folder/files (i.e., you have to copy/paste files into "source" box, which is cumbersome); no output files were generated.
Summary
It downloaded and installed quickly. I don't like having to copy-and-paste files from one folder into another (i.e., in this case, from a folder containing files of GIFs to be doubled in size to BulkPicMe's "source" box), but I could live with it, IF the program works! After copy/pasting 25 small GIF files to the "source" box to be doubled in dimension, I tried to de-select the top of two file/folder output options (i.e., presumably to use the source folder as the output folder), but it didn't "highlight" or "whiten" or "open" its corresponding, adjacent, grayed (i.e., no access) widget. The second of the two did work, in that I was able to enter a different output name, which would have a sequential number appended to it (i.e., to avoid duplicate names), but, although the program seemed to process the files (i.e., I heard my drive access, and the list of output files appeared in the "output" box), I couldn't find result files anywhere on my computer (I searched all my hard drives for them, to no avail; FWIW, I searched for any files created after I had downloaded BPM, and even examined the input files, which, thank goodness, weren't touched (I had backed them up, just in case the program didn't do as I expected/wanted). FWIW, I use Vista, with which BPM claims to work, and I'm a computer programmer with over 30 years of experience, including a sideline business of fixing home and business computers, so, hopefully, that means I know what I'm doing. All I can say for BulkPicMe: Don't.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on May 15, 2011<p/>Minor correction: There ARE buttons to import files from folders, but, they are only visible with high rez display settings which are too small for me to view, comfortably, but, when I set my display to view the entire BPM interface and clicked on the top button on the right to change the folder, it automatically imported EVERY image from that folder, which was NOT what I wanted. As soon as it completed, a pop-up appeared saying there was an exception which closed the program when I clicked it. That was all I needed to know to uninstall the program. Despite a simple looking interface (albeit with no low-rez option/capability), it is clear to me that BPM was not tested with Win Vista, if at all. Great idea. Lousy execution.
