Over the years I grew to rely on apps which enabled or enhanced these capabilities of the platform. I always liked to get in contact with the developers and enjoyed improving and forming their apps to my needs. For the speech related stuff see my other apps :-) I used to be an avid Android Pro Widgets (APW) fan, I had their Bookmark and People widgets on my home screen since my HTC Desire (2011), but I realized I don't need the fancy bookmark synchronization: I have thousands of bookmarks in my desktop browser, and I can access all of them from Chrome. What I needed was a small set of links which I could access directly from the homescreen. I looked for an app that would allow me to just put a few links on the home screen possibly with their screenshots. I couldn't find such an app. I corresponded with devs to no avail. I had to do it myself...Recent changes:What's new: 1.03better bubble auto colorsauto populate on app update fixedwear: swipe in from left or right to start app (preliminary "drawer mode")1.02Wear component early preview [when complete will be premium!]Permissions:CALL_PHONE, READ_CONTACTS, READ_LOG = New Contact bubblesINTERNET = Bookmark bubblesVIBRATE, SYSTEM ALERT = Android Wear componentPlease be nice and don't downrate before contacting me at dyna.logix.hu@gmail.com. Summary
I heard about the app in the Android Wear forums, and after testing it, I completely switched over from Wear Mini Launcher. It's a relief not to struggle with the lag and battery issues of mini launcher. Being an avid Android fan the apple watch look was a con for me, but if you taste the versatility of this mini-launcher you will see how much of an improvement this is over what apple came up with.
After using the smartwatch launcher on my Moto 360 for a couple of weeks I realized the homescreen widget capability which came as a bonus. Only then I realized the how genius the widget component of this 2 in 1 app is. It takes a few minutes to discover and learn how to create so called "bubble clouds", but then it's the most fun to have apps, people and even web shortcuts in this layout (to be honest I am still figuring out the web links ("bookmark bubble clouds"), this part of the app is not as refined as the rest.
The dev seems to be actively working on this, I am expecting even more goodness in the future of this app.
