Block This for Android

Block This! is an open-source Android utility designed to block ads and trackers across the device by utilizing a local VPN interface. This app operates without root access, making it accessible for a wide range of users. The primary function is to intercept DNS requests and prevent ad domains from resolving, thus stopping unwanted content before it can load. With a simple one-click activation, users can enable or disable the ad blocking feature effortlessly, making it a convenient tool for anyone looking to enhance their browsing experience on Android devices.

The app's lightweight design minimizes system impact while efficiently reducing mobile data usage by preventing heavy ad assets from downloading. Block This! also blocks known malware and phishing domains without employing an acceptable ads whitelist, ensuring a more secure browsing experience. However, users should note that the local VPN model may conflict with other VPN applications, and manual installation via APK may be required, which necessitates enabling Unknown Sources in device settings.
