Too many limitations
VKY01July 9, 2014
Pros
API integration Pretty Good and useful apps Decent Tech support
Cons
Only ONE from shipping addresses, if someone like me has multiple suppliers Big Commerce is the wrong choice. Can not have different shipping options for different categories. So you can not offer automatic free / fixed cost.
Summary
if you have only one location to ship from and you don't want to have different policies for shipping and if you need API integration, i guess you can go with Big Commerce.
EASY TO SET UP AND USE

Pros
GOOD CUSTOMER SUPPORT, EASY-TO-USE FREE, GOOD-LOOKING TEMPLATES, SHORT LEARNING CURVE FOR WHICH YOU DO NOT NEED EXTENSIVE SUPPORT (unlike VOLUSION and others). SSL SUPPLIED, ALTHOUGH YOU CAN PURCHASE YOUR OWN. $100.00 IN GOOGLE AD WORDS FOR EACH PACKAGE, SMALL OR LARGE. VERY REASONABLE FEES. NO CONTRACT! YOU CAN UPGRADE, DOWNGRADE OR CANCEL ANY TIME. I LIKE THAT. OH, YES: IT INTEGRATES WITH PRETTY MUCH ALL OF THE CREDIT CARD PROCESSING GATEWAYS OUT THERE, SO EVEN IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE BEST CREDIT YOU CAN STILL FIND A GOOD, RELIABLE PROVIDER. YOU CAN BUY A WEB DESIGN PACKAGE IF YOU WANT, BUT IF YOU ARE ON A BUDGET YOU CAN STILL BUILD YOURSELF A VERY NICE STORE.
Cons
SOMETIMES CAPACITY SLOWS, BUT ALL I HAVE TO DO IS RE-LOG IN AND IT GOES AWAY.
Summary
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. OUR AUSSIE FRIENDS ARE GETTING IT RIGHT!
Obvious capacity problems.

Obvious capacity problems. Hopefully, it is temporary. Sometimes it takes retry after retry to log in to the administration console to view orders and make changes.
Summary
All was positive until a month ago...then, (according to their support desk), the started showing signs of capacity problems. over-capacity, that is. Can't seem to get an answer on when the issues will be resolved. very disappointing.

Cons
There is no embedded newsletter software. the absence of B2B support.
Summary
Hi all, Your review is really impressive! I have a small experience of using BigCommerce, as I had migrated my store from Shopp not long ago, ( with a help of Cart2Cart migration service, because I was scared to move all the data manually) but I found your information very useful. Thus I can say, Bigcommerce is really userfriendly and less problematic in store management.
