Bible-Discovery is a complex Bible studying software. It contains several Bible translations, dictionaries, tools for helping to understand the texts in the original language, bookmark handling, customizable font size and colour, a biblical text importing pane, and a parallel and comparative Bible read feature. The feature rich program engine is totally free. However, the extension plug-in with the Greek and Hebrew dictionaries is a shareware product (dictionary files starting with "Strong").

Promising but Hebrew faulty and needs documentation

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />To start this program you need to double-click the jar file. The interface is not too Mac-like. Other than that, this program has promise for Bible study. Beware of relying on the Hebrew text. I did a spot check of several familiar psalms and found frequent misspellings - bizarrely they were always the letter "shin" missing from the start of a word. The built in concordance works well in English, less well in the Hebrew. One nice feature is the ability to parallel versions of the text. A search in one language will place you in the corresponding place if you switch language. It would be nice to have the Septuagint [Greek] version of the Hebrew Bible available because there are a few places where the Septuagint differs from the Masoretic [Hebrew] text.
