Working with different types of movie files and disc formats, including Blu-ray, can be a challenge using native Mac programs. Aurora Blu-ray Player for Mac allows users to play movie files, DVDs, and Blu-rays from one application with good quality.

Available as a free trial version that places a watermark on Blu-ray playback, the full, unrestricted version costs $39.95. The trial version allows unrestricted use of movie files and DVDs. While the program only took up approximately 30MB of space, the download and installation took approximately 30 minutes, despite the high-speed Internet connection used. Once this completed, the actual installation and setup were accomplished cleanly. The user is prompted to enter an email address to purchase the full version, but can cancel this option to work with the trial version. Aurora Blu-ray Player for Mac did not have any obvious instructions, but there was some technical support available for updates. The program did have an easy-to-use interface similar to other player applications. Users can clearly select from files or discs to be read and the buttons for each function are clearly labeled with simple graphics. When we selected movie files, the playback began quickly and the video quality was good. Similar results were obtained using a DVD. The buttons available for play, pause, fast-forward, and back were well placed, as was the video slider showing the time played and remaining.

For those seeking playback capabilities for multiple types of video media, including Blu-ray, Aurora Blu-ray Player for Mac is simple to use and plays videos well.

Program installs about 3 other programs not asked for, not available to filter out via custom install. Also seems to attempt to hijack some web sessions.
Summary
This software should not be allowed on CNET as bundled. Uninstalled immediately.

Pros
Not have Blu-ray now, just test some of my recorded videos. The MTS, M2TS files is supported. Also some HD MKV movies, the image is smoothly.
Cons
no repeat function, the playlist is too simple.
Summary
A simple tool, I will check with some ISO Blu-ray movies later.

Pros
I use the Samsung SE-506BB(white) BD drive to play my Blu-ray collections, this tool just works fine. It jump directly to the main movie which may be conveniently. But it is a pity that the full Blu-ray menu is not available.

It will be better with the full Blu-ray menu available.
Summary
For its price and image quality, it is worth to have now.

Blu Ray movies do LOOK good. Very easy installation User Friendly
Cons
Subtitles do not work properly. Foreign languages are not translated unless you have Closed Captioning and have everything translated, even the sounds. If you are hearing impaired this is not a problem. Customer support is only in email and after saying how to turn on subtitles (which was not the issue) and never offering me trouble shooting steps, they effective called me a liar saying that their subtitles work and said that was the end of it. They do not offer refunds.
Summary
The quality of the video looks great and very user friendly but with lack of 3-D support, buggy subtitles and effectively non existent customer support this product is lacking. There are better options elsewhere.

I have to say this video player satisfies my urgent demanding to watch the movies i like in my PC, especially the HD effect is amazing!

3D is not support, but they told me they are still working on it!
