"Atoms in Motion" is a fully interactiveatomistic simulation that uses sophisticated Molecular Dynamics (MD) algorithmsto perform computational chemistry calculations right on your iPad. Suchcomputational simulations reveal the motions of atoms as they attract, repel, andinteract with one another to form unique structures and states of matter."Atoms in Motion" is the ideal App to discover and interact with the physics ofchemistry and materials. With the tap of a finger you can easily add, delete, orhighlight atoms within the simulation. With a gentle touch you can move, place, oreven throw atoms. With the swipe of a finger you can control the temperature andexplore the states-of-matter (solids, liquids, and gases). Uncover the physics behindthe ideal gas laws, and perform your own experiments by changing the volume,the number of atoms in the simulation, or the temperature. Now as you build andcreate experiments, you can easily save, manage, and organized them from withinthe App.The student edition of "Atoms in Motion" uses the same interactive 2-D MolecularDynamics (MD) simulation as the original, but is limited to 100 neon (Ne) atoms.The Van der Waals forces are computed using a Lennard Jones 6-12 potential,and the simulation continuously computes the pressure.
