Top-notch graphics, a wide variety of enemies, and an awesome shipboard arsenal make this ostensibly standard space shooter highly addictive. AstroAvenger pits your space fighter against vertically scrolling waves of enemy fighters backed up by missile cruisers and mammoth capital ships. The captivating graphics set the carefully shaded spacecraft against a gorgeous backdrop of purple nebulae and spinning moons. Eerie music evokes the vastness of space. Destroyed enemies drop power-ups, and between rounds you can trade captured booty to upgrade your ship. The mix of opponents and weaponry is so well-handled, you hardly notice each round is basically structured the same as the last. Experienced gamers will finish the demo's one level in less than the provided hour, but three grades of difficulty encourage replaying. Fans of shooting games should take AstroAvenger for a test flight.

Version 1.7 Microsoft Vista compatibility added, Windowed mode has been fixed, game engine was converted to DirectX v8.0, Web version was created, and minor bugs were fixed.

this is a really awsome game! the graphics are spectacular. its has great sound. it is very fun and challenging. i love this kind of 2D space shooters and this is by far the best ive ever played. the enemies get harder and harder as you progress but you also have the ability to buy upgraded weapons. i would recoment this came very highly

Cool add ons for your plane....like missiles, atom bomb, laser etc. high quality graphics and shapceship handling is good. in short...I would buy it if I have enough money....!!!!!

The agreement statement is well written and I believe its even proof read! <p>+ Only 20 bucks and worth every penny. <p>+ If you ever get bored you should get this game.

Amazing gameplay wrapped up in a beautiful 3D package. It gets a bit tough about 3/4 the way through (I died numerous times) but it still felt that it was ME blowing it and not the game. <p> <p>Easy to control and absolutely gorgeous explosions. You can also buy upgrades and fight your way through increasingly tougher bad guys...just like you would expect. However, what you wont expect is just how good it all is together. Some toughness issues aside, it's good blasting fun. I would say that I played for about 10-15 hours to finish it (which is great for a shooter).

Similiar to the old Galactica back in the 80's but of course combine that will excellent sound and graphics and awesome weapons. You can choose and upgrade weapons at the end of each level.

The game employs an advanced upgrade and power-up system that allows you to buy new types of weapons, ammo, armor and batteries as you advance from one level to another.
