AspxFormsGen 4.5 generates databound ASP.NET 4.5 web forms. AspxFormsGen 4.5 is a combination of our AspxFormsGen 4.5 engine (generates ASP.NET web forms) and AspxCodeGen 4.5 engine which generates Middle-Tier, Data-Tier, and Stored procedures or Dynamic SQL codes.

Made for the Visual Studio 2012 IDE using the latest 4.5 .Net Framework. Windows 8 operating system ready. Generates Standard, Bound ASP.NET 4.5 Web Forms. Uses the strongly-typed Model Binding system. Uses the HTML5 BoilerPlate template for a fast, adaptable, and robust app. Can generate Web Forms using FriendlyURLs for cleaner URLs (Like MVC). Generates New 2012 T-SQL scripts such as the OFFSET ROWS, FETCH NEXT ROWS (Skip/Take functionality). We've added two new web form types. A GridView with Search functionality and a GridView with Inline Add/Edit functionality.

Pros
I have a few code generators but this one is the easiest to use and most affordable. One click feature really works. Great support via email whether you have the Express or Pro Plus edition, I have both, answers fast. I like that it generates all tiers of code, I especially like the generated UI and Stored Procedures. If it's not the easiest to use, let me know what else can be easier. Just download the Express Edition if you're a cheapo, it's really free to the core, they won't email you nor will you need to register it.
Cons
You cannot install in windows server products like the windows server 2008 operating system, for windows vista, 7, and 8 only. They probably did this to avoid sharing the license.
Summary
If you plan to buy the pro+ edition make sure to ask for a coupon. they don't publish it in their web site.

Pros
Express is really free and they even answer your support questions via email, you don't even need to register. Professional is in one word AWESOME, and they even gave me a coupon.
Cons
Express does not generate code in the data layer, so I suggest adding entity framework code here, plus it only generates one type of web form, I'm not complaining, but these are the cons. Professional, each version cost full price. for example, version 4.0 is full price, when you're ready to buy the 4.5 version, that's also full price, make sure to ask for a coupon if you buy the next version.
Summary
My suggestion, buy the pro or just get the express. Don't tell you're boss you're using a tool and prepare to get a bonus. Awesome!!!

Pros
The easiest code generator to use ever. Saves a lot of coding. More than 10,000 lines of code in less than a minute. Reads ms sql database tables and generates 3 tier asp.net web forms, middle, data layer and stored procs. Really quick customer service via email.
Cons
No phone customer service.
Summary
My suggestion is get the pro+ instead of the express. You can use it to quickly create an administration, content management for your existing databases.

Pros
Easy to use, cheap enough, generates asp.net web form, code behind, stored procedures in a 3-layer approach. They also have a free product and the only thing the Express edition does not generate are stored procs.
Cons
Product updates are hard to come by.

All in all I like this product, I like the one click feature.

Pros
Easy to use, just one interface and there's an explanation/tooltip of everything in the interface so if don't know what a specific text box or check box is for just hover over the question mark . Cheap enough. Stored proc or dynamic SQL generation.
Cons
No video tutorial like the last version. More expensive than last version, but I got it on sale, last version $179 new version $219.

Pros
Generates more web forms, a lot of new functionalities, generates stored procs or dynamic sql. A little customization, and most of all it's still easy enough to use.
Cons
$100 more than their last product, I know that the last version was 4 years old or something.
Summary
Price is still a lot better than the rest. Easy enough to use. You can also use the generated web forms for asp.net 3.5 projects just need to tweak the web.config and some web forms, they don't mention this in their web site. I like the way they separated code into 3 layers.

Pros
I own the previous aspxformsgen pro version, the new 3.5 version can be installed side by side with the older version. Works just like the old one, very easy. There's lot of changes with the generated webforms. Here's what I like.<p>- The webform coding in the UI is now more web 2.0 standardized. So instead of using single quotes, e.g. runat='server', it's now runat="server"<p>- LINQ-to-SQL is used to grab data<p>- The list of all generated (1 html file) webforms looks a lot better, some webforms are readily clickable so you can see it in action, with descriptions of the files.<p>- Gridview styles are very professional-looking. And they also have examples of the styles in their website. This is absolutely helpful.<p>- My Favorite: Uses AJAX and AJAX control kit in the generated webforms. Nicely done.<p>- Better tutorials - in video.<p>- And many more, just can't think of them right now.
Cons
- Does not generate stored procedure anymore like the previous version. This strickly uses LINQ-to-SQL to do CRUD operations. I wish they would have kept the stored procedure generation along side with LINQ-to-SQL.<p>- Still does not give an option to choose only the table for which you want to generate webforms for, it just generates for all the tables in your database. The only good thing is they also generate an html file that list all the generated webforms, and they're clickable.<p>- Only generates asp.net 3.5 webforms. It does not generate asp.net 2.0 webforms. It's a good thing I also have the previous version, it generates 2.0 webforms.

Pros
Absolutely love the One click (and some typing) feature of asp.net webform generation. If you're an Asp.net 2.0 programmer you automatically just know what the webforms that was created are used for, you would just know what the textboxes, validators, drop downlist, master page, web.config, themes, etc are used for. <p> <p>Another favorite of mine is the creation of stored procedures straight in MS SQL 2005, and yes the webforms are bound to these stored procedures. <p> <p>One last amazing thing is that it works and runs in Vista too. <p> <p>Can't wait for the version that creates ajax controls. When will you guys get this ready? Cool, cool, cool!!!!!!!!!

Only works with Microsoft SQL Server, no other database like Access or Oracle.

Ok I bought this based on the reviews. Frankly I think that the reviews were written by staff of the company. They will not refund your money when you find out it doen't help you. Frankly it will generate pages and stored procedures but this is far from a RAD. Open it in VS and you have a nightmare of mixed up not master oriented pages. <p> <p>If you want RAD, go download a trial of codecharge. You can do a hell of alot more with that product for an extra $100. This product is a waste of $150. DO NOT BUY IT. <p> <p>If you are just looking for something to generate stored procedures. Download a trial copy of Ironspeed. Generate your app and then look in your SQL database. All SPs (insert, delete, append) have been created there for you without throwing $150 down the drain with this piece of trash. <p> <p>Again, DO NOT BUY THIS, the reviews are wrong.

1. Express is really free, no gimmicks, no pop-ups, no time expiration. <p>2. Both Express and Pro are Extremely easy to use. My 12-yr old son was able to figure it out without help, that easy. <p>3. Writes regular Asp.net 2.0 webforms, so it's very easy to understand (if you're an asp.net programmer). Everything created is standardized. <p>4. You'll never have to email support, it's too easy. <p>5. Professional writes CRUD stored procedures, and straight in the database, no scripts to copy and paste, this is the best feature I like the best. <p>5. If you're not picky for your administration, you probably won't even need to code. <p>6. And soooooooooo much more. This product is really great for Asp.net programmers.
