This strangely named program gives you just about everything you need to wipe away the traces of Web surfing and other computer activities. We have no problems with the attractive and straightforward interface, which prominently displays buttons for all operations to the left of the large status window. Asmw Eraser Pro deletes history files, cookies, cached files, and typed URLs from Internet Explorer, Opera, Netscape, and Firefox. The program also erases tracks from a variety of popular applications, such as Adobe Acrobat and Kazaa. Though it doesn't natively support third-party applications, it has a tool for developing your own plug-ins. The addition of a secure file shredder and a scheduling feature are nice touches, and the program can run in stealth mode for increased security. In our tests, Asmw Eraser Pro did its job quickly. You should exercise caution before starting a cleaning session, however, since the process can't be aborted once it has begun. Happily, the program is now completely free, although you do have to fill out a form to obtain a registration code. PC users who want to surf the Web on the sly and don't want to pay for the privilege will surely benefit from this application.

Cnet screws up again - This software is NOT free!

Pros
None found because I won't waste my time when searching for free software at Cnet but to then find out it is not free. Cnet screwed up yet again and mis-categorized this program as free.
Cons
It costs $20. Perhaps trivial to the Cnet editor but not to me, especially for a non-essential utility. Cnet screws this up so often that I suspect they are getting kickbacks by misleading their users toward "free" software that isn't free.
Summary
If you are looking for a free solution, this isn't one.

Disappointed since the creator starts out with a poor first impression of them selves by indicating the software is free.
Cons
That Download.com allows people to use them to use there customers to be miss directed. Get with the real world and try harder to stand up to the truth and don't hide behind the cheep wording thing your going to gain this way. I will just stay away from all you offer now. If you allow this to go on then what else does Download.com allow?

Asmw Eraser Pro is a free to try program, also known as try before you buy program. So to get the full version you have to pay $19.95 for this program. Or you can get free privacy cleaners like Clean Cache, Free Internet Window Washer, IE Privacy Keeper and other ones free of charge.

Each time you click the Erase key, it claims to have erased xMB of data. Oddly enough this happens no matter how many times you click the Erase key.<p>Logically, after you have clicked Erase once, shouldn't the next time show 0MB erased, since you have already just erased everything?<p>Could it be that the number and size of files erased is an imaginary number?

it is so simple to use you can determine how many times you want to overwrite files from 1to9999. it does what it says and there is no spyware and it does not remove anything you dont tell it to.

CCleaner, 30 free evaluation days of "TuneUp Utilities 2007" and even "Advanced WindowsCare V2 Personal" does a better job than "Asmw Eraser Pro". <p> <p>And the programme crashed when I tried to delete some chosen pluginns. <p> <p>It's not adware, spyware or anything like that, it simply doesn't bring anything new on the field. It's nearly a step back. <p>This is 2007 and freeware is better than this, sorry...

you have to register to get a serial, the program stays on top so you have to kill it to see the reg site, then after registration there was on an error so i never got my reg code. sux
