The ImageWriter can be made to work with AirPrint for an iPad or iPhone, showing that the ImageWriter may never truly die. I have an original model from 1984 and I bought 6 ribbons for it and that should allow me to use it on whatever computer I would care to use it with.
Cons
That you could buy a color laser printer for half the price 25 years later, and that some people won't all still like the ImageWriter; when modern laser printers might never print graphics if it wasn't for the ImageWriter ;-)
Summary
The ImageWriter was a revolutionary product and shows just what a printer can do when the people designing it can think outside the box. It's the same thing that so excites me about a certain Macintosh 128k I have and still use as often as possible.
