Biography

Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husary is born in a village called Shobra Al Namla en Tant in Egypt.

He is a well renowned and eminent reciter of the Holy Quran.

At the tender age of 8, he had already completed the Hifz of the whole Quran. By age 12, he had already memorized and learned the ten recitations in Al Azhar.

In 1944, he made his debut on the radio with Quran recitation on 16 February 1944. On August 7, 1948, he was assigned the Muezzin of Sidi Hamza Mosque.

In 1949, Mahmoud Khalil Al Hussary was appointed the Imam of Al Imam Al Hussein Mosque in Cairo by 1955.

Mahmoud Khalil Al Hussary was one of the most esteemed and coveted Quran reciters of his time. A television serial titled, Imam Al Muqrin, featuring Hassan Youssef, was dedicated to Al Hussary life and various recitations and performances.
