Summary
Have operated my printing company since 1992 with PageMaker and to this day I still use the last version, 7.02. Started out with version 3 and worked my way up the upgrade scale. I have all of the CS products installed but still only use PageMaker 7.02. BTW, only on the PC. Wish I could use 7.02 on the MAC Pro but will not install.

Pros
Well organized categories. Has really easy to use features. You can add extra plug ins. It is equally good in automatic and manual operations. Easily accessible page numbers where you won't have to scroll down to find your place. Easily accessible menu and tool bars. Adding special effects like Drop Cap, Headings, blurbs and others are simple. You can adjust the letter spacing by pressing Ctrl+/- in case you need to make it look better.. The Text flow feature is just fantastic, it can be squeezed, expanded, rotated and placed anywhere you want.
Cons
I has some hitches in inserting pictures, it doesn't show it in the preview with correct resolution, so you don't know what's going to happen unless it is printed out.
Summary
Overall using Adobe Pagemaker gives a wonderful experience in Page Designing. Any newbie can learn and start using it It performs equally well in automatic and manual actions.
