AdBlock Plus for Internet Explorer blocks annoying banner, pop-up, and video ads from appearing on the Web sites you visit. It blocks everything automatically, but it's easy to unblock sites. AdBlock Plus does more than block annoying ads. It also disables tracking, malware domains, and social media buttons, if you tell it to. Acceptable Ads appear on ad-supported sites that follow AdBlock Plus community guidelines, helping to keep both those sites and this free, open-source browser extension that way (i.e. free). We tried AdBlock Plus for Internet Explorer in IE 11.

Installing AdBlock Plus in IE 11 required a system reboot. The add-on works automatically. We looked for but couldn't see the familiar ABP browser button until we enabled IE's Status Bar (under Tools/Toolbars), which isn't displayed by default. After that, we could click the ABP icon to access the add-on's options, manage blocking, and more. Some of the extra features dialogs didn't display in IE 11, but it's easy to report issues and bugs, and the AdBlock Plus community responds quickly.

For the most part, the brand-spanking-new AdBlock Plus for Internet Explorer worked as well as in other browsers, and much better than anything else like it, free or not. We clicked some tiles to open ad-laden sites we'd visited in our previous session. Some blocked ads showed placeholders, but AdBlock Plus closed up most spaces for a much tidier look. We also visited sites participating in the Acceptable Ads initiative, and we're totally in sync with both the spirit and the results. All IE users should try AdBlock Plus for Internet Explorer.

Pros
It's incredibly effective blocking ads and provides the option to disable it for specific sites (I guess it's to improve page-loading performance). It is pretty straightforward to set up and to use.
Cons
Didn't find any so far.
Summary
I've been putting up with internet ads since they started appearing. However, ads are now annoyingly intrusive and extremely aggressive, to the point where I can't read the news online anymore (even on sites with a paid subscription!!!). After installing this app the results are so pleasing to the eye that I am still afraid to see them again every time I open a site. I would like to thank the developers. You are making a difference.

Blocks ads from all websites (depending on selected preferences); Simple and easy to set up; Free to install; Support is also free; An independent company offering users a choice, of opting out of aggressive, in your face, advertisements.
Cons
No cons for me, but some users run into problems when they don't properly select preferences.
Summary
I've put up with internet advertisements since inception, but recently these people have become so aggressive in their quest, that I had to do something about it. I am more than pleased with the instant results. Thank you Adblock Plus. You're making a difference, and I for one, would be willing to pay for this add-on.

Pros
I thought I had done everything to block pop ups, restrict cookies, etc in my settings. Surfing the net, especially news sites had become so annoying, being forced to wait for all the ads to load before I could use the scroll button! It was a true annoyance. I downloaded this is seconds and it has revolutionized my web browsing!

How did it get on my machines?

None. I don't want or need this and don't know how it got into my machines.
Cons
Adblocker appeared on 2 machines on my network this morning. I can't figure out how it got in. I had never heard of it and did not approve install. One machine showed a stop sign in top right corner that I didn't recognize. The other machine opened a Chrome tab asking for a "donation." Not happy.

This ad-blocker works way better than any other I have tried. It blocks most everything, even ALL those annoying ads, pop-ups and redirects from movie sites. It even gives you the choice the block those annoying Facebook and Twitter social BS buttons. It deserves at least a 5 star rating. I would give it 7.

NONE ! It works better than I could ever dream it would.

Updates comes with trojans.

For IE it doesn't work but works for Firefox.

Avira removed several trojans during update install process its weird cause the file from cnet link didn't have virusses.
Summary
Installed fine but it doesn't work. Ads everywhere. The moment I try to update it Avira goes bananas. I tried both versions. This one and 64bit, both were unable to update cause Avira keeps removing trojans during update. Doesn't happen with the firefox addon.
It works but it gobbles RAM as you surf.

I really wanted something like NoScripts, but since that is not available for IE, I thought I would give this a try since it does some of the same things. It seemed to be working but in the background the program was devouring more and more RAM as I went along.
Cons
The point of using a tool like NoScripts or AdBlock is to speed up web browsing by not downloading and running JavaScripts , autorun videos and flashing ads, especially for an older computer that just gets crushed by all the crap on websites these days. The retained memory seems to offset that benefit. I uninstalled but await a version that addresses the memory issue when I will try it again.

This is the best ad blocker so far.. In Pandora, all ADS will get blocked, I can skip many songs I want without getting one single ad.. Just love it !! Good Job ADBLOCK!!
