• This is my favorite DVD ripper software.

  Pros

  It's very simple to use and has all the video output formats you need to play your video copy.

  Cons

  It's a little slow in converting your videos. Once you finish converting to a certain format you can't change it to a different one unless you start over.

  Summary

  I recommend and have been using it for years I's always an important part of my collection of important computer programs.

• Internet Explorer BUG

  Pros

  Free vers didnt rip my .swf file.(period)

  Cons

  And the dam download screwed my internet explorer home page up. -My home page is set to my popular sites, when I open explorer my popular sites show like normal, however when I open another tab its blank. I made no other downloads and this is what gave me this problem. I also remember in the download process it asks you to sign up for chrome which I checked NOT to install but have a feeling that is what gave me this bug in explorer

• Wondershare is a Rip Off

  Pros

  None. I got the online help right away but their help confirmed by product I just bought does not work for my application.

  Cons

  They will not refund even if they confirm what you just bought does not work! I bought Video Platinum. They said it is not for my DVD. This is all I have so I requested a refund. They said no. Instead, buy the other package with no refund of the first one.

  Very bad business practices.

  Summary

  I've tried a couple "free downloads", but nothing has been as easy and flawless as Wondershare. It rips anything and everything, does it quickly and easily, and in any format you want. I've been using it for about a year now, and after a few trials, purchased the full version. Well worth the money - and this is coming from somebody that is a big software cheapskate!

• Absolute waste of time and money (Paid version)

  Pros

  Quick processing of your credit card, teaches a good life lesson about downloading and paying for software with a no return policy.

  Cons

  Despite saying that it does, does NOT rip CSS encrypted DVDs (every DVD I own doesn't work). NO REFUNDS!!!!

  Summary

  I paid money, downloaded software that does nothing but generate messages that it can't work with CSS encryption. the website is useless, the only reference to CSS encryption is a zip file for Apple users. The fine print says since it's a try before you buy... no refunds. Beware beware beware. If you want the same experience as this software, take $30 and set it on fire. Frustrating experience.

  It ripped only the first 10 minutes, limited functionality (you can't pick & choose which parts you want to rip)

  I'm glad I got to try before I buy. I am not impressed whatsoever with the Trial version of this product. I am even less inclined to actually purchase the full version

  Pros

  You can see all the items then you can un check the previews, and any extras! So for me, I back up my DVDs that kids play ALOT. Also you can choose your video size, compression... Plus it will convert video for all the smart phones! AWESOME!!!!

  Cons

  SPEED... Always asking for faster... Though it does 1 1/2 hrs movie in roughly 20 - 30 minutes.

  Summary

  Its easy, to the point, gives you choices... pure AWESOME!!!!!!

  I've ben using this software for about two years now and it's awesome. It will rip almost anything.

  Cons

  I have ripped a few where the audio did not sync up. I believe this was probably because of the dvd and not the program.

  Summary

  Excellent product. I usually use it to rip files into AVI so I can view them on my WDTV. I have also burned the files onto a dvd as a backup copy and that worked fine too.
