WinFX works great for me.
hnasc
Pros
I did not encounter forced add ons or downloads. I've been using it for a long time with no problems. It converts fairly fast and it's easy to use. I'm about to download again on my sisters computer so will let you know if there are "forced" add on's required.
Cons
I agree there could be more info under the quality designations. I'd also like to know what high, super high, full screen and wide screen really mean as choices.
Summary
I like it. Suits my needs. Would not like it if forced plug ins or installations were ever required.
Where is the help?
dreemsnake
Pros
It's free an it looks like it might work - I haven't tried it yet (see the cons)
Cons
No Help
Is the best quality Super High, or Very High?
Summary
I realize this is a free program but there should be some help, unless it's there but I'm missing it. The only thing under my Help menu is "About." My question is: I am choosing the device preset. My choices are, in this order: High quality, Super high quality, Very high quality. (sigh) Now, I would assume that the highest is the super high, but it is between the other two, making it look like they are in order by quality, unless they are in alphabetical order. So, I want the best quality. Is it Super High or Very High?
Installs lots of crapware along with itself
jefferymc
Pros
Seems to do the conversion
Cons
No way to opt out of installing the additional crapware
Summary
This might be a winner if it weren't for the way the installer *FORCES* you to install Bing Toolbar, Ask.com crap along with something called WeatherBug. In fact, if you don't read the terms of the agreement, you'll never know that this crap was installed... until your computer starts to drag and you see all of the popups.
Until the author makes the install of the additional crapware optional, I'd avoid this application
LOVE THIS PROGRAM!!!!!!!
cloverdalecurves
Pros
Can convert my songs so I can use different sound altering programs to create new sounds!
Cons
simplistic, though that could be a pro too.
Summary
Everyone should have this program.
This program worked perfectly with Windows 7.

Cons

ztl
Pros
Nothing except for the description, and what appeared to be a simple GUI.
Cons
First, it installed and adapted the GUI to Hebrew for no apparent reason (my system is English). I added a file, chose the output, clicked convert and nothing happened. No conversion took place, and no preview was viewable.
Summary
Disappointing. Don't bother.
I added a file, chose the output, clicked convert and nothing happened. No conversion took place, and no preview was viewable. Twice I received a bizarre message which didn't even look like an error message. Once a DOS window open. But there was no sign of conversion and the preview didn't work either.
