Doesn't create HTML!
xstevex11- Pros
- WYSIWYG interface Insert pictures, text and links painlessly
- Cons
- Does not store pages in HTML, therefore, you can not edit the HTML code for your pages!
- Summary
- Nice, but doesn't suit my purposes.
Does Exactly what it says!
roxannej77- Pros
- Easy to use. Fast. Does what it claims. Rich online community for compatible templates and add-ins (siteSpinner) Easy enough to create new, or customize existing templates for future use. Great WYSIWYG interface. Renders true. Fast Easy Preview of page. Uses newer <div> tag and <css> formats.(instead of <table> which older WYSIWYG interfaces tend to favor) Creates very clean html code. Great for quick page creation or when working with client to finesse location of elements. Allows code inserts, opening this program up for HTML5 or any gadget that you wish to incorporate. Save project files for future work. Template editing very easy. Click to open element interface... very usable. Free
- Cons
- Would be nice if it... Could open existing html pages. Create templates from existing webpage. Built in templates pretty mediocre. (however free templates easily found for sitespinner and they are totally compatible.)Some of the templates created on older versions did not display all of the elements.
- Summary
- This program does a great job for it's target audience. It is a powerful and easy to use tool for getting the website/webpage in your head, (or your client's head), onto an HTML page. It is not a tool for managing or updating existing html which was not created on this program. If you have the creative ideas of what you want a page to look like or you want to move elements around to get it worked out... this is a great tool. If you are looking for website in a can... this is not the right program for you. You can add your menu, header, footer, etc. (including links) into the template folder and use it for any project. Creates very clean code. This makes it a great sandbox tool for serious html authors. The built-in templates are pretty mediocre, but the sitespinner web community has tons of free resources that boost this program. I wanted a sandbox and this fit the bill very nicely. I appreciate the <div> tag and <css> formatting of the code. Well done Oh Dwarf of power!
It should be called a trial version
- Pros
- It has a ruler. It seems to have some decent functions that are easy to work with.
- Cons
- It doesn't have a table or any color functions. It seems like it left out a lot of functions purposely to make it harder to work with. Every time you close the program it asks if you want to upgrade to SiteSpinner program which is not free.
- Summary
- If you want to download this and toy around with it then go ahead. I did that and I'm taking it off my PC in a minute. This really seems like a trial version and they want people to upgrade to SiteSpinner program.
clumsy, non-intuitive, and just odd to use
mrmannerz- Pros
- It will make a web page.
- Cons
- This is a weird program. It requires a couple extra steps to modify an existing webpage. When I tried to edit existing text, it truncated the top of the page. They have made simple editing difficult and cantankerous.
- Summary
- I expect to feel a certain level of confidence with software. This product did not give me that. It reminds me a bit of the fear that MS Vista gave me when I had that on my computer. Uninstalled.
The free version is gutted.
freckles531- Pros
- Good help pages and tutorials.
- Cons
- Even creating a link to a back page is disabled in the free version so you must get the $45 upgrade to create a useable web site.
- Summary
- Offering a useless free version of Web Dwarf helps neither the company nor the customer.
Its good... if your one geocities
achgfd- Pros
- um Its fun in a retro sorta way?
- Cons
- If you don't know your code there are no additions to help. It just looks like those old geo cities websites.
- Summary
Couldn't figure this program out!
skaizun- Pros
- Nothing! I couldn't figure out how to get my existing HTML file into it.
- Cons
- I couldn't figure out how to get my existing HTML file into it.
- Summary
- Not much to say: I tried to open my existing HTML file, but WebDwarf has no way of doing that that I can see. The interface asks you to create a "project" rather than HTML files. I am totally confused as to what its intent is. As such, it is now off my computer. 'Nuff said?
Great tool.
hubans- Pros
- Incredibly easy to use. Downloaded and installed easily. Works great.
- Cons
- I have used different versions of this product over the last few years. I have not found any real cons to date.
- Summary
- Great web page maker, especially for the price. I have tried a number of different wysiwyg software design tools, this one has the least amount of quirks, has the easiest learning curve. And no advertising.
Crashed my computer
thuule- Pros
- never used it.
- Cons
- It caused IE 8 to crash
- Summary
It installed, but IMS file conflicts with Incredimail
cesarinternational- Pros
- It installed okay.
- Cons
- I had to remove it so that I would not have problems with Incredimail.
- Summary
- I wanted to open an existing Frontpage with it, but could not. The company name is IMS and there is a conflict in one of the files with a file used by Incredimail. Therefore Incredimail asked every time it starts if I wanted to change the setting for that type of files to be used by Incredimail.
