VoidWorld was originally developed for animation designing for .x file objects. It now has polygon based modeling features. It spports .x, .smd, .md5, .3ds, .obj and .dae formats import and export. It provides a wide range of tools, some of them are probably unique. It is supposed to be easy to learn and easy to use. The download includes the online book which has the contents of user reference and tutorials.

Pros
I here it is a good application with a nice set of tools, and that the website (hideously ugly) is not a good representation of its abilities.
Cons
I am unable to run it as above user windows 7 64bit has .net version 4.x and is asking for a older version to install and run. I am not interested in trying to downgrade, it will likely cause problems and possible security issues.
Summary
Too bad, I have heard alot of good things about this app and always welcome open source tools. Just seems like it is a problem in the development for windows 7.

Summary
I thought this software might be pretty cool, and it still may. I have Win 7 64 installed with the .NET 4 framework. VoidWorld wants .NET v1.1.4322. After reading about problems some people are having trying to install older versions of .NET I decided I'm not going to have a Microsoft assisted Hair Pulling Session tonight. I'm just not up to it, and I need all my hair. Maybe if they fix it to run on the latest version of .NET, or at least fix the installer to see that a new version is installed I might try it again.
