It refused to install on the new Win8 box that the T.M.Plat was given as complimentary from the purchase (must go back to Best Buy and demand something else). I installed in on my 2008 Mac running a boot-camped Vista and everything slooooowwwwed down to the point that the beast was rendered useless. Firefox became inoperable. Everything froze. TMP crashed constantly. At that point I was concerned that I had a virus. After removing TMP, everything went back to normal.
Ah, and what in the hell is the business of disabling Windows Defender and not allowing it to be re-enabled? Some sort of insecurity issues going on here?

Who are they paying to write favorable reviews on CNET? This is the worst piece of crap I have ever attempted to use on any PC at any time in my life. I have been using computers professionally for over 30 years and remember DOS and 5 1/2" disks.

Pros

Have never had any issues with virus, malware, or spyware with this product and have had the ability to work without the horrible delays you get with McAfee or hackers getting through Norton. It's also enabled me to work without having to keep having to "okay" a site or game.

Cons

When I purchased the product it said for 1-3 computers but could only load to one. Had to purchase another for my second computer. When I tried looking for a number or a way to contact them, there was none!

Summary

I've been using this product over 10 years and as long as it was installed there were no issues of any kind. I am fully confident that when I get on my computer it's safe and secure.

Before I used Trend Micro I had been using McAfee or AVG for the past few years, while also running SpyBot and Malwarebytes. When I installed Trend Micro the first time it found over 100 things that the other programs had not found previously. SInce then I have not had any issues with virus or spyware. The only other program that has ever been as useful for me was Norton before it became compromised. Thanks for a great piece of software.

No advanced options available(this can be in pros for dummies),few false detection more than other suites,but it is simple and easy to "unblock" those.

I have searched long time for this kind of product.Other antiviruses was either to heavy on system,or not detecting good,or something else.I have tested it few times vs. malware and i say it is very good.I have win license for one year for this software, i believe it is a keeper. I hope to see future versions little more techie oriented(as an option,so you can choose from two modes - simple and advanced configuration). I recommend this highly. I think that has allot of potential and it is a very good deal.

After I upgraded and cleaned my hard drive(pro. did it for me..cost:$120.00 I bought and downloaded TrendMicro with SystemMechanics 11,at a cost of over $100.00.Now,none of my installed programs work,IE is gone,had to move everything I could to My Documents..only folder that still worked.Have to use Google Chrome,but also have to use Windows XP service pack dvd.To go online,I opem My Documents,click on Chrome installer set up and use dvd..several times.I called SystemMechanics,but thet only have a company to fix it for $199.00 The first no. at all 3 locations,is a residential number.Just call 1-800-555-1212 for the 3 numbers in 3 States,I can't use My Family Tree Maker,greeting cards,Dragon Voice Recognition (a gift..,costs $99.00),I also can't meet with my Disease Spec. anymore..I'am disabled,so I use my computor alot.It's older,but upgraded with a new hard drive.When I try to open a program,I get the "unavailable",error box,etc.I went to a friends house and saw pages and pages of complaints about this product. Your'e company and Tucows approved it.Are you going to help out all the ppl who lost the ability to get info.,and just enjoy using thier machines? One more thing..my Nextbook tablet was synched to my computor and it is useless..I yr. old and now trash.

Had a virus issue few hours ago, I downloaded their free tool called Housecall, after few minutes of scanning It get detected 4 threats in my laptop, Included the Virus and the error message what it got,then I restarted my lap then all are done without errors

I had Trend Micro P-cillin and Trend Micro stop supporting it and never notified me so I quit getting updates and my computer got infected. I was told to download Trend Micro Titanium and it still never detected the virus. I contacted Trend Micro and after being a customer for over four years they said they couldn't help me. SO,
"Trend Micro could offer me a lifetime protection of internet security and I wouldn't install it on my alarm clock. To me Trend Micro is not a trustworthy product and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. In fact why spend the money for Trend Micro internet security when it doesn't protect your computer just go ahead an get the virus and spend the money to get it fixed and save what you would be throwing away on Trend Micro. Go with Symantec. I had Trend Micro and still got a virus and Trend micro did nothing for me but give me the run around."

It's the number one blocker, Works with everything you own and your covered. Easy to use. Also great little tweaks they have added. reports whats going on. Also tons of settings that you can control your machine musch better then the prevoius version.

Cons

Its default settings are not setup the best way for your system. This causes people to hate the software; when its not configured to run the best way possible. big mistake, also its a little picky on programs aready installed that are ok. If trend doesn't like the way another acts in updating or runing.. it will block it, sometimes the unblock must be done two or three times. Trends database of good program lists needs to be updated like the 2012 version is and correct. Vista install is extremely long. The release boot control code needs to be faster. its a pain. Also this version doesn;t work good at all on old xp machines with 1GB or less, then its way too slow.

Summary

Trends needs a light version stripped down for people with older machines. Defaults settings must be changed. The last three years trend contiunes to provide value for the dollar. this year they offer even more. Finally I would like the program list of approved software really updated, I was a bit suprised at what it was questioning and disapointed, I can see the end result of this software, It seems Trend was a bit rushed to release it on a deadline, and a couple weeks of more programing would have made it perfect! also get rid of the un-install of other programs like malwarebytes, as you know trend some things you simply can do!!
