Encrypt SWF files for either Flash or Flex technology.
SWF Protector helps you protect all your SWF files from all kinds of SWF decomilers, no matter if you were using Flash or Flex technology. It uses three different unique protection methods that allow SWF files playback in Flash Player, but conceal the source code completely. It protects ActionScript 1/2 and ActionScript 3.0, so none of your files, either old or new, will stay unguarded. For ActionScript 1.0 and 2.0 use significantly revamped "Mask script" and "Mix script" methods. ActionScript 3.0 code will be efficiently encrypted with innovation method, which was not present in previous versions of the software. All in all SWF Protector was made much easier to use thanks to the automation of protection settings and interface improvements. SWF Protector supports all versions of Mac OS X. Protected SWF files will be flawlessly played in all versions of Flash Player; processing, saving and loading of SWF files is simply fantastic and speedy.
I'm testing a Mac version of SWF Protector. I think This program is one of the best.

Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Pros: - low price
- pretty simple and reliable
- cross-platform (Linux, Windows Mac)
- command line interface available
- batch file protection in Simple mode (AS2+AS3)
- choice of protection method and its intensity in Advanced mode
Cons: - it renames original file to original_"name".swf and protected leaves the the same name
Summary: I must say I?m really impressed. It is an excellent tool. The interface is just perfect and it was begging for a drag and drop of the SWF, which I did and it worked wonders. Moreover I had to do nothing, absolutely nothing, just drag the file and click a button. It was perfect! Just like I imagined it.
If you want to protect compiled SWF file so there are several solutions like SWF protector from DComSoft, secureSWF from Kindisoft and SWF Encrypt from Amayeta software. I do have investigated/tested them all and the conclusion is following:
- SWF Protector - as for me it is pretty nice and reliable, simple/user-friendly and cheap. So that is why I am using it;
- secureSWF - reliable and very professional, but as for me - complicated, more expensive of course and from time to time broke my flash games;;
- SWF Encrypt is very expensive for me and actually I don`t know why... maybe there are some powerful algorithms... I have checked the code using decompiler and found nothing except some cycles. Although I am not a very good programmer.
As for the price, SWF Protector gives all the functionality for just 40$, in the same time prices for secureSWF and SWF Encrypt start from 100$ and have limitations.

Roy
