Cons
Printing groups of addresses is not straightforward.
Could be a bit less expensive.
Summary
I like this software package and use it regularly but the name is a bit of misnomer as this app can print much more than just labels. You can print envelopes, media labels, letterhead, and matching sets.
Some tasks are very intuitive such as printing return address labels where all the labels are the same. However, if you want to print a group of names from your addressbook, it's going to take of bit of trial and error to figure it out. Once you do though, this package does a nice job of printing - including graphics. A full design layer is part of the app so you can design your own custom formats. You can also save them and they are stored as documents so you can double click on them from within the finder to start the application.
While the price of this app is not out of sight, I feel that it's a bit too expensive - it feels like it should be in the $25-30 range but seeing how it does do more than just print labels, it may justify the additional charge. I did buy it and like I said in the beginning, I use it almost on a daily basis.
I have multiple businesses so being able to save various envelop formats for the different operations comes in very handy.
Disappointed especially with window control

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Used SOHO Labels for over 1 year and I am really frustrated by it. For me, the windows would open up on the screen in a location based on something inherent in the software vs. the normal Mac windows control protocols. For others in my family, it was not intuitive to use and felt very non-Mac-like.
I started looking around and downloaded a trial version of "Labels & Addresses". Wow, what a difference. It works like you expect it to. In 10 minutes, I was up and going.
There are no user forums on the Chronos web site. Their knowledge base gave few answers.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I used version 2.5 for over a year and this was just about OK. However, version 3.0.1 is very buggy.
The Chronos support site looks impressive but offers nothing - not even a reply!
Some of the features I requested over a year ago (like FULL Royal Mail barcodes) are now in the product Mail Factory.
Maybe SOHO Labels version 4 will fix things?

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I just finished upgrading to version 2.5 (which was another must pay to upgrade) six months ago, and now <b>Chronos is asking for another $19.99!?</b> That makes my total $39.98â??one bloody penny away from the application at the full retail price of $39.99â??in just six months time! And there is still NO user forums. Chronos has already lost me as a customer on SOHO Notes, and now they are losing me as a customer on SOHO Labels. Chronos, as a company, has become major joke. Time to move on to <b>Mail Factory by BeLight</b>.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I've used this for work quite a bit, on both a MDD Powermac G4 and a Macbook. I find the interface very intuitive, and the design tools are easy to use and surprisingly powerful. I bought it as an alternative to the crappy OEM software packaged with labelers and such, and I've not been disappointed. The clip art collection is pretty nice and their designs are better than average right out of the box.
I had some trouble with installation, perhaps fixed in the 1.6.1 update: I couldn't access clip art; turned out it should've been in my user directory not the /Library/Application Support directory. I also use it with a Brother P-Touch labeler that uses continuous label stock; they don't include a template for this printer but I manage to get by with either a custom template or one of the DYMO ones. I'd like to see them add support for more dedicated labelers.
Customer support has been great, although I wish they still had their discussion boards.
Ridiculously Buggy Software

Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I've been using this software for a couple of months now and have finally had enough. Virtually every time I launch it, something different happens. Layouts never stay the same as when you created them. The app locks up frequently. This is a good idea, poorly implemented. This is a great program if you love wasting your time.
Way too buggy!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Unbelievably buggy. Feels like a beta. I'm not happy, and I've had to re-design all my labels in other labels applications. I really hope they patch all the holes, as I'd much prefer to use this app, but for now... no way.
