Pros
The service worked for the first 2 days of my trial
Cons
- Netflix did not accept me connecting through this service.
- The customer service was available to respond but was not always upto the required level (many times same question)
Main issue
************
I asked for a refund before the "so called 7 days guarante refund" expired and this was refused because of too high consumption during the week that I was continuously trying to use their service and have it correctly set-up.
Summary
Think carefully before deciding to sign up to this service.
Pros
A huge number of worldwide servers to choose from.
Cons
Unable to make settings stick.
Absolutely useless in (slow) internet cafes in the Caribbean and Europe (both visited in 2015)
Summary
When PureVPN works as described, it's a winner. However, I would set the protocol etc. as well as auto log on and auto start, but the only way to start it was manually! (Reboot and the settings changed!)
Customer service is prompt, but useless. Each time I contacted them it was clear they read my message header, but they ignored the detail--so their answers were always inadequate and frequently just plain wrong.
I gave them a year--and for the most part it was a frustrating year. I have just switched to PIA and after a day it seems to be working just fine.
Pros
1- 24/7 Support Availability: I work round the clock and often in different time zones. The Support Team was always available and eager to answers as quickly as possible. If a solution is not on their website, they go out of the way to provide solutions from different sources!
2- Marketing Promotions: Been a user for quite some time now. Have always found a promotion around the time i'm up for renewal so that gives me the impression they truly care about customers. Bravo!
3- 100 Countries: Though I haven't tested each individual country on offer, I have tested "most" of them. I was always able to connect rather quickly and after clearing the cache, websites were unable to learn my original location. Also maintain a dedicated IP so that helps me function my online business safely.
4- Streaming: Wasn't introduced to their Smart DNS till quite recently. Wish I knew of it earlier! SO MANY CHANNELS =^_^= ! A blessing for avid cord cutters!
Cons
1- The software is slightly complex, a higher than average learning curve. Could be simplified.
2- Web site navigation is a bit tedious
3- Have to ask that your account be whitelisted if you wish to use in a country other than where you were at the time of purchase
Summary
I've been using PureVPN for about 2 years now. It is my daily driver. Installed on both my android and iphone devices as well as on my macbook and windows pc. I travel frequently and am grateful that the support team is available 24/7, seeing how not every ISP is in favor of VPNs, the support team becomes an asset when such a situation arises.
Other than that, I love how they always have discount/promotional campaigns and how they are continually trying to improve their product. New channels on Smart DNS, new servers, new country introductions, updates for the software etc. Biggest motivating factor is that you get a bucket load of features for a VERY competitive price.
Pros
- unblocks all popular TV channels online from anywhere in the world.
- perfect for sports streaming.
- got servers (IPs) from 100+ countries.. That's huge..
Cons
haven't found any, yet.
Pros
Awesome purpose selection tool.
Cons
I dont need to configure it manually, just one click software
Pros
Split-Tunneling feature, Number of servers and Simple UI.
Cons
Found nothing negative, worked for me at first go!
Summary
By far the simplest VPN software for windows.
Pros
* They answer your first email for support
* I did get a refund
Cons
* Don't expect real support especially if the problem is complex
* They promise follow up but don't
* Now they are charging nothing for year one but its worth less then that given the problems it cased (see below)
Summary
Immediately after I installed PureVPN software I began to have network problems I could trace to per this support ticket (edited for length):
Dear Q Nauman M.; Customer Support Manager:
Whether or not this was caused by PureVPN is now indeterminable though know I lost access to my Seagate BlackArmor NAS 440 after installing VPN. Not being faint of heart, though, I reinstalled Pure VPN with the following consequences:
1. Though you have a box I unchecked so PureVPN would not automatically start at log on the program IGNORED this as I found in MSCONFIG.
2. After I was able to exit VPN I had again lost contact with my BlackArmor NAS server and it could not be found even after a reboot using their discovery software.
3. I removed the PureVPN program and yet the BlackArmor NAS was still not found.
4. Only after I rebooted my Cisco Router and the BlackArmor NAS was I able to reconnect to it even with PureVPN gone.
For me this is not PureVPN it is Pure Hell. Nor am I a neophyte user so I can only imagine how someone with less experience would have reacted to these issues.
Please tell me if:
1. You were aware that the installation program is ignoring user requests not to start up at log on.
2. If you know of or know why PureVPN would interfere with local network connections to a NAS.
3. If you have any immediate solution to this problem or plan to investigate and resolve it shortly or
4. If not, should I simply give up on PureVPN as an experiment in futility and ask for a refund.
Pros
Decent software. Good online resources
Cons
Slow speed and less than helpful support.
Did not honor their 3 day money back guarantee. Used a deeply buried bandwidth limit to the free trial (easily exceeded) to deny refund. Deeply dishonest.
Summary
Would not recommend to anyone. If the speed doesn't work for you, they will abandon you and keep your money.
Pros
I have been using PureVPN for several months now and am deeply satisfied. My basic motive was to unblock geo-restricted content but I eventually ended up becoming aware that I should be secure against hackers and spies too, thanks to the wide-ranging features PureVPN offers. I would recommend it to everyone who wants to be secure and limitless. They offer a good refund policy so there are no risks involved.
Cons
The Android version is not as smooth as the ones for iOS, Windows etc.
Pros
good streaming speed
prompt customer support
DDoS protection
many IPs and servers
Cons
Some novice users might find its software a little difficult to understand
abruptly disconnects sometimes
Summary
I would say that i got what i paid for with PureVPN. Needed to access Netflix and Hulu while i was outside the US, plus got a dedicated IP from the, which i still use to access my bank from Ghana. Yes, the connection sometimes has problems, but that's a given since it is a networked app that depends on many factors. I know, many users don't care about the details, and they shouldn't, but since i work in the IT industry I understand some aspects. But thats just me.
Again,i got what i paid for, its as simple as that
