  Well, I guess the developer really intended to provide a service that should be included in the Mac OS: "print selection". I'm coming from Windows and am used to easily print selected text, and I was surprised to find this lacking in Mac OS. However, it seems the developer has abandoned the two plug ins/services/apps that appear on his homepage and the subsequent updates to MacOS have broken this service. For the people not able to remove the service, head to HD/Library/Services and move the Print Selection service file to the trash bin. According to one forum, if you move this file to the HD/System/Library/Services, you'll see the 'print selection' appearing in the services menu; I did not try this as I didn't want to tinker with the system folder and I just deleted the service when it didn't work. I don't know if I'm late to the party but I thought I'd leave this for any future frustrated user. There is a paid service called Print Selection on the App Store.

  Attempted to install four times by following instructions but couldn't open it, and couldn't find it using Finder, Applications, or Plugins. I'm concerned that this may be something that I can't remove.

  Initially did not appear in the Services menu. Must place a check in the appropriate box in the Services Preference, which is not found in an obvious place: Keyboard Preference Pane > Keyboard Shortcuts > Services. Download should include a note.
