Users often have the need to track separate passwords for multiple secure Web sites. With Password Bank Vault for Mac, users may store these passwords in one secure location and also generate new, random passwords for future use.
The program download occurred quickly, and, while there was no native installer, loading the program was easy. After initializing Password Bank Vault for Mac for the first time, the user must accept a short licensing agreement, which was not complicated. User tips, which can be dismissed, automatically pop up when the program starts. The basic interface is easy to use and any level of user should be able to work with the program. A menu allows entry of a Web site along with a description, password, and username information. The program also has separate menus banks, regular sites, and FTP information. Lists may be imported or exported as spreadsheets. Users may also set a unique password to enter the program, which added security for the password files. An additional -- and welcome -- feature is a password generator, allowing the user to randomly create new passwords. This feature has options to let users specify the strength of the password, including cases and special characters.
While basic, Password Bank Vault for Mac performs its stated functions well, and users having trouble keeping up with multiple passwords should consider it a viable option.
