PowerPoint presentations are often recycled on the Web and other secondary uses. VaySoft's PPT to EXE Converter is an interesting application that turns PowerPoint PPT files into executable files that can be copied and opened on any machine running Windows 2000 or a more recent edition, including 2003 Server and newer. It basically turns your presentations into little self-running programs that can be distributed in any way that software is handled and that anyone can open and view, without requiring Microsoft PowerPoint or any third-party software.
PPT to EXE Converter's dialog-based interface is practically self-explanatory, though there are integrated and online Help resources available. Three tabs access Single Conversions, Batch Conversions, and Logo Setup, the latter an unexpected but welcome extra that lets you insert a logo to display before or after your presentation, or both. The program is extremely easy to use, and everything is clearly labeled so there are no mistakes. Browsing-capable input and output fields; Convert, Preview, and Close buttons; and check boxes for generating an auto-run file for a VCD or DVD and for entering music, video, or other additional files pretty much sums up its functionality, with space to display more files on the batch tab than the single conversion tab, but little other difference. The nifty Logo Setup tab was equally easy to use, with simple check boxes yet excellent descriptions of what each does.
We tested this handy program in Windows 7 and Vista. Its unique specialization makes it a valuable business tool, and we recommend it.Editors' note: This is a review of the full version of PPT To EXE Converter 5.36. The trial version is limited to 30 days trial only.
PPT to EXE Converter is an application that will help you to convert PowerPoint presentations (PPT) into professional self-running EXE files. The EXE files can be copied to any computer and will run on Windows 2000 (SP4 or newer), XP (SP1 or newer), 2003 Server, Vista or windows 7, without requiring any additional program files. If you want to send someone your PowerPoint presentation, or distribute it via the internet or through data CDs, the best way to ensure that everyone can view your presentation (no matter whether they have installed the needed version of PowerPoint on their computers) is to convert to a self-running EXE file using PPT to EXE Converter.
