PEiD Tab is a free utility that enhances Windows Explorer by adding a study of PE files, allowing to know the compiler, and hence the programming language used when writing a program, packer or Cryptor. Definition of packer is carried out using the search signature. The current version can detect 672 of different signatures in PE files. You can also add custom signatures. There is the possibility of disassembly of the file. The disadvantages include the fact that you can bypass the search algorithm his signature, and he cannot find the desired signature.To use the utility is very easy - after installing PEiD Tab you need to click the right mouse button on the desired file(shortcut, application, DLL or other executable file), select "properties" from the drop-down menu, and go to tab that appears PEiD ("PE iDentifier").
