MagicEffect Photo Editor is an easy, breezy way to add style to your photos. Choose from effects such as Sketch, Star, Amazing, and Dream to make your photos stand out from the rest.

This simple application has a basic interface that includes buttons running down the left side of the program that apply the program's different effects. To the right, the program shows you the original source picture and a preview of what the picture will look like once the selected effect is applied. It shows you 10 versions of what the picture looks like with the effect, ranging in different levels of color, intensity, and tonality. There is little complexity to the program; users open a photo and click on the buttons to apply effects. The undo and redo buttons are clearly marked and easy to find. Users have the option to save their finished artwork as wallpaper, as low-quality JPEG, or high-quality BMP. We wish there was an option to save the finished files as high-quality JPEG as well.

The trial version of MagicEffect Photo Editor is limited, and it puts a watermark on outputted files. This is a great program for hobbyists or photo enthusiasts who want to enjoy playing with their photos on the computer. Professionals will probably find the program and its effects too simplistic, but it keeps things simple for the average user.
