  Awesome product 6-19-2014

  Cons

  A revolving ACTIVATION CODE. Which means anytime you have to reload it,or try to install on your second PC. You need a NEW activation code. And You need your original ORDER number. And their restore Activation doesn't work. You also are not to install on more than one PC. I understand the need for security. But they go way too far. I will never buy it again.   Pros

  All the features I was looking for. Very easy to import photos to the timeline.

  Feature I was most interested in, doesn't work. I have not continued with a presentation creations, as I don't want to waste my time if this feature doesn't work

  Summary

  I chose to ignore the negative reviews of this product, as I am usually able to figure out the more complicated applications and the video demonstrated all of the features I needed for presentations. I want to create travel slide shows, so the "Map Route Animation" feature was exactly what I needed. The first time I tried to use it, a browser opens up and then states that it can't connect to the internet. I went to support and followed the suggestions for Internet Explorer settings. (It states that this is the only browser it works with). This did not solve the issue. I then sent a request for a solution to support. I received a reply, stating that there was a patch needed to correct the location that the browser was being sent to. I utilized the link to the patch provided, only to find a message there stating that the patch was not available at the moment. So far, that moment has gone on for days.

  Extensive features (transitions, animations, etc.) if you can ever figure out how to use them

  Cons

  Non-intuitive, unfriendly interface and program. Examples: if you move a photo into its "Media Pool" and the decide not to use it and delete it, you have also just deleted it from the ORIGINAL folder. If you type title text and then try to apply movement to it, instead of the other way around, your entire computer will lock up. (How could you possibly know this?) There are no blank or title slides; if you want to use one, the Magix.info site explains work-arounds that are ridiculously complex compared to the one-click options of most other similar programs.

  Summary

  After a week of struggling with the trial version, I have uninstalled it and will move on to something that, I hope, actually works. Both Windows Movie Maker and Wondershare are short on features I want, but I would use either one rather than trying to slog through Magix.

  sad ...such good software,is of no use when you can not use it because of a very difficult activation code process.Very expensive.

  Cons

  the activation code. is a revolving code. if anything changes in your PC. You will need a new code. Getting a new code is not easy. I have lost two days work, waiting for the tech team in Germany to respond. I just got off the phone and the rude sales department rep said the German team went home.1-305-722-5810 : Sales (9am - 4pm EST, Mon - Fri)If I can only call between 9 and 4 US eastern time. And with the difference in Germany time,what kind of opportunity does that give you to call.

  I may eat the $80..loss and buy a new product

  Pros

  None! I think they put too much thought and made this product too complicated, but then it doesn't even work correctly!

  Cons

  This application is extremly complicated! It came with a 250+ page instruction book that I had to ask for. The customer service in Germany is not helpful and will only allow you to email them and take 2-3 days for a response. You have to pay an additional fee for phone service. All of the stuff it says it will do - importing videos is also an additional fee. When I finally spent HOURS on a project to convert it to a DVD, nothing worked properly. The slidshow was out of oder, the text was missing, etc. Terrible application.

  Summary

  Do not waste your money. I've actually submitted a dispute charge with my credit card company! If I could I'd give it ZERO stars.

  You have to buy codecs with constipated red tape procedures; then whenever I updated the product, Magix did not recognize my order numbers and codec confirmation codes; as a result - because of their lousy European service, I've had to repurchase codecs otherwise I'd be waiting for service from mid-Friday to Monday !! They live in the past, I'm afraid.

  i think it's better than any free software cause here you have the whole possibilities for editing, viewing, presenting photos in one package. i really like it.

  Summary

  Do you have nice and sharp images that you want to show in a professional slideshow? Well then this is NOT the sofware for you. Imported images are not correctly processed and show up nice and fuzzy as if digital photography is still in its infancy. Various excuses on its blogs and Q and A sites don't adress the issue, nor does its acrobat formatted manual. I'm asking for a refund.
