• It's not bad

  Pros

  It has a quick search and doesn't take that much space. The interface is quite nice as well as the preview with built-in editing.

  Cons

  The first time indexing takes time, but well, after that is done, it goes faster, depending on the number of mails you received and files that were changed. I index every 5 hours (changeable in the options) and it only takes a few seconds to do this. I extremely recommend to turn off the option for a complete new indexing!!! If it does that, it will delete the old index and do a new one, which is pretty inconvenient. if you need something right then. You can seardch while indexing, but if it's not in yet, it won't be found. Just updating is fine though.

  Summary

  In the end, Lookeen is not bad. The index technique is a little outdated, but full text search is pretty nice, so I don't care if I have to wait a few minutes. As I said, quick search and an editable preview are the main features, which are convincing.

  Great tool to search emails not just local but also in a network environment. Can be used as a Outlook plugin or as desktop search tool. Makes working life so much easier.

  Lookeen is a great program with some minor flaws and comes in handy while sorting mails, trying to find certain files or keeping yourself informed by showing you exactly what you seek. Recommandable!

  - finds emails very fast - nice interface - preview of emails, documents, pdfs etc

  - takes a while to open large PDFs - initial indexing time is really long if you have a lot of data

  I tried it just for fun, thinking I'm too organized to need something like this. But the speed and convenience got me, it's great at finding Outlook emails. In the preview you can not only view documents (like word or excel), but edit them, too. It takes a while to open larger pdfs though. A reliable program with few flaws and great usability.

  Super fast search results with the ability to edit the found item in the preview. Search-as-you-type and post search actions.

  Takes some time to index, but if you want to get fast search results there is no other way.

  Summary

  Great tool to search your desktop and outlook mails. With dozens of mails coming in every day its worth the investment.
