• Waste of time for XP users

  Why install this for xp when its already built in? or even better, if you MUST have a seperate program, go get netmeter. its free, has advanced features, etc. OLDER DOES NOT EQUAL BETTER

• Small, works great, doesn't slow down connection

  Pros

  This does exactly what it is supposed to, without slowing down your PC. Light turns on when internet activity is present - turns off when it's not. It is very small and uses almost no memory while running. For Windows XP, simply right-click the installation program and click the tab for "Compatibility" - select Windows 98, and say "OK". Then run it, and it installs fine.

  None other than the small step of running the installer in compatibility mode.

  Pros

  I installed this program on two computers running 98, and one running XP. I have read the other post's claiming that it said it can't install on NT, but that's ok. Just run the install program through the Compatibility Wizard, and set it to run as if it's in 98, install's just fine. Oh, I like it.

  I have yet to find anything that I don't like about it.

• Good "DUN wannabe" icon!

  Pros: Shows activities when I am downloading/surfing using DSL line through LAN network Cons: Doesn't show the speed unlike the original DUN icon for Win98 but only for Dial-ups. Overall: Just like others, I miss that icon too when I use DSL. Wish I had speed connection details instead of TCP/IP details, Dale.

• Causes severe problems in Windows 98SE

  LanLight intention is great. However, when installed at my Windows 98SE PC in caused severe problems: systems doesn not start-up anymore but asks for boot disk. When I got through this, system crashed repeatedly and forced me to run Windows ScanDisk (4 hours). Even after removal it leaves traces: I can not start-up properly anymore. It's a very nice idea that ends in a nightmare.
