Measurement instruments with RS232 port have been widespread even now. TDS298
is 32-bit program for Win95/98 later to apply for the measurement instruments. It works with a COM port of RS232. TDS298 gets 1 to 4 Measurements of Tektronix DSO (Digital Storage Oscilloscope) at every minute through RS232 port. The sampling time syncronizes PC's internal calendar clock. With TCP/IP connection, Win98/95 PC can syncronizes NTP (Network Time Protocol) server by Sakura watch. For example, I applied for measuring the sun light power at one second precision. You can browse the measurement result of Meas.txt by LAN or WAN. TDS298 also works on the same PC of HTTPD server.
Kiri198 passes Meas.dat for Slip2 that lists Meas.dat for Slip.dat. Kiri198 displays and updates Measurements without browser at remote PC that TDS298 gets from Tektronix DSO. It does not need press F5 key to update. Another application Slip2 displays listing of measurements at real time. Kiri198 needs run-time library VB40032.DLL that is bundled.
I checked and confirmed that Kiri198 worked on Win98/XP Home SP3 of 400MHz PC
and on WinXP Pro SP3 of 1.7GHz PC. I had added a few check codes to watch a truncated Meas.txt by TDS298 in older versions. But Kiri198 happened to find a truncated Meas.txt running within a day. TDS298 always overwrites Meas.txt at every minute. I did not know whether TDS298 made it or not. I made a small application to include the same codes of Kiri198. I could get to occur the error. So I removed the codes. I also reviewed codes of TDS298 and enhanced not to make a tag only Meas.txt. I am going to upload the new TDS298 soon.
